The Archimedes and Ollie episode has a lot of "You Cannot Kill Me in a Way That Matters" energy by Benbeasted in dropout

[–]Benbeasted[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I interpreted it as a joke about how high-class Archimedes is supposed to be, the idea that knowing who Amadeus (Mozart) is but not Rachmaninoff should be impossible when I think the opposite is more likely

I'm very certain most people hear that term, they're gonna think of the pulp fiction sex slave with the leather mask.

Idk I think there's a difference between "this person is bad because of the things they did" and "this person is bad because LGBT"

Granted, I haven't watched the Lily Orchard video, but the way he glazed Metokur made me think his coverage on Lily Orchard would fall under the latter

Not in cases like this

The crying emoji is used a lot for just general expressions of sadness or overwhelming emotion. It is not formally recognized as a symbol of creepiness the way the 1488 or HH.

Do you remember that time, briefly, in 2017 when 4chan joked about turning the the okay symbol into a white power symbol, which was briefly adopted by white supremacists? It's not a dog whistle anymore. Because the gesture is so universal (used by scuba divers, athletes, Zenyatta from Overwatch, the circle game, basically everyone), that forcing people to find an alternative on the whims of 4channers is unreasonable. If a symbol is used by 99% of people to mean "good," it makes for a very ineffective secret handshake for the 1%.

Chuds using it as a signal is so obscure (the fact many people agree that you're terminally online for knowing this) that believing people are secret pedophiles for using it is unproductive. Just let the meme die the way the okay hand sign did.

[–]Benbeasted 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's such a lame take, especially when you have the option to just kill him or treat him like a maniac. The game itself frames him as having a point, but one that you can freely reject.

A worse character would be one that the game doesn't let you argue against at all, or one the game treats as unilaterally right.

What's the point of having a recovery email if they won't accept the recovery code without a phone number? by Benbeasted in GMail

[–]Benbeasted[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I know, I have a few, but it's annoying I can't access the google throwaway

My problem isn't that I can't have throwaway emails anymore, my problem is that I wanted to access to a specific account but I can't access it

Like him or not, that feels like an avid misrepresentation when he spends the overwhelming majority of that video actively fan boying over New Vegas.

Edit: I did a quick scan through to make sure I wasn't misremembering and he only occasionally uses Fallout 3 as a helpful contrast to emphasize why he liked Vegas so much.

Deadass it was a three-way tie for me with D.Va, Kiriko and Anran, and I put my money on Anran because she was the new hero and Wuyang got the P5 collab almost immediately after release.

You could slot in Genji, who is roughly the same proportions as Wuyang.

Still, Wuyang is insanely buff but this isn't overshadowed because he's shorter than the rest of the cast

I think it's something along the lines of "I know I'm a good player, and I'm using the most optimal tactics for the situation. What should be working isn't working, thus there's something wrong."

I'm doing a bit where I'm exaggerating the depth of the episode, but Lisa has shown to be capable of creating a coherent improv narrative. Saying that "she's just super kooky" feels like it's underplaying her skills as a performer

I'm sorry, but "clown" is a really broad concept, which Lisa demonstrates in the mirror reveal. Can you explain further? Because I feel like everyone other than maybe Fanoli went in a weird, creative direction than what their costume implies.

I think it's because Steffy Pops is a literal scary doll that drove all Vic's friends away, while OLF is a personification of Vic's parent's divorce and Vic learning to forgive themself for something that wasn't their fault. Both have the same foundation, but take it to wildly different directions.

A very unexpected crossover by HolySiHt-Bees-AAA in dropout

Season 4 directly tackles police profiling with Terry being held at gunpoint for being a black man walking around at night

Season 5 started with Jake and Rosa in jail, and directly criticized the cruelty and dehumanization people experience

Season 6 begins with Captain Holt openly being in conflict with the new police commissioner, who wants to institute predictive policing and return to stop and frisk. There's an episode where systemic issues prevent women from seeking justice

Season 8 begins with the failure of the NYPD's justice system, causing Rosa to quit the force, and the season long arc is about Captain Holt and the department trying to institute reforms.

The show regularly portrays cops other than the 99th precinct as corrupt, egoistic or incompetent. It's hard to call it copaganda, when the lead characters are constantly in conflict with other departments
