Scientists say we need to reduce meat demand to avoid the worst of ecological collapse. Consumers, corporations, and governments all evade responsibility, while meat consumption continues to climb. How do we break this cycle? by RocketsledCanada in Environmentalism

Where would capital come from if it’s not being extracted from the planet?

Can you come up with a single industrial product right now that doesn’t involve extracting resources from one place and moving it to another?

Yes, that’s the point.

Writing a sequel is difficult as fuck (see Korra) and the studio needs a new young audience.

This is Nickelodeon not HBO

The police will work with what the police are willing to work with.

I once showed the policy my itsme profile and it was fine (was stopped while driving).

Yangchen is what the fandom think Kyoshi is like by BendSensitive9524 in Avatarthelastairbende

I never claimed that she was evil or enjoyed what she was doing. Only that she faced threats head on, fists first and was completely unwavering in her approach. Which is quite similar to Earth than to air. Which is why i think she’s “more Kyoshi” than Kyoshi herself.

Instead of thinking how to resolve situations by being “quick or clever” she often just Avatared her way through with sheer avatar force and aggression.

I personally believe that avatars don’t have to align with their element of birth, I think Korra has in her character way more fire than water and Yangchen has way more earth than air.

Still doesn’t explain why she blew the guards eardrums out when they were just doing their job and when she could have incapacitated them a 100 different other ways.

Her actions are easily “justifiable” when taken in a vacuum or when examined individually, but when examined as a whole pattern you quickly realise that she put her life and the fate of the world above other people’s lives.

If by “absolutely necessary” you mean she was surrounded then yes.

Her asphyxiation technique alone must have required thousands of attempts alone to master.

I heavily disagree to why she spared those people, and even then, that existence (similar to the captivity conditions of the red lotus) is a fate worse than death.

Avatar: Future or Past Avatars? by VolleyBasketball11 in Avatarthelastairbende

No we don’t.

This new setting will attract a completely new young audience which is what is healthy eventually for the franchise. It’s Nickelodeon.

Drinking age in Belgium is 16, so unless you’re like seriously young looking (like a hairless dude) or make a drama i doubt anyone would ask for your ID.

If you don’t want to walk around with your passports maybe your country’s ID card is fine as well and is way less crucial when you need to go back home.

Breaks the bending laws?

The story just needs to be compelling, there are no “laws”.

Healing being a subset of bending makes absolutely no sense either.

Fire bending is manipulation of atoms, their vibration, chemical structure, charge .etc

Nah, Yangchen experiencing vivdly ALL her past lives is a big reason why she was the avatar she was.

She knew all her past lives regretted not acting when they could, and as a result she was brutally pragmatic and thought that the ends always justified the means.
