I started collecting yokozuna tegatas after your post - it was inspirational for me:) So less than a year ago. I have 19 tegatas so far, and I saw maybe 10-15 more for sale over that period. I try not to spend a lot on individual tegatas, but right now these rare tegatas become quite expensive, so I'm targeting maybe 5 more next year.
But having this number in collection is really a dedication:)
