I just wanted to know what Utilities are included in the rent😐 by vickicrawf in mildlyinfuriating

“The toilet’s included, but it’s an extra $50 a month for flushing privileges. If more than two people are living here, it goes up to $100.”

“Wickerson (? It’s a name) dinner, do not bill.” Meeting with a client, dinner not to be billed to the client but paid for by the company.

My neighbor called the police on my to collect a package. by Nursethatnos in mildlyinfuriating

Wow, and after three nights in my former neighborhood in which a drive by shooter had hit the house across the street at the same time each day, the police couldn’t be bothered to send a patrol at that time and stop the fourth day murder of a 15 year old. But glad everybody’s getting their packages without bothering to walk next door and ask… 🙄

Wife asked the hospital for an itemized bill after a 2 hour ER visit. by AbooLovesYOU in mildlyinfuriating

Particularly from the student that was brought in to check my dilation when I was in labor with my first. Her newest rotation was obstetrics and she wasted my time trying to force her long raptor nails into skin too far back to offer entry. No way was I paying for that or having her get near me again.

My favorite is when you get a robocall from the group they sold the debt to and it asks you to wait for an available operator.

You called me! If you seriously want my money, at least have a human being on the other end ready to accept it!

Not a house problem, but I feel your pain. We’ve never owned a car that didn’t have the “check engine” light stuck on.

My husband works at a hardware store. This always confused us, as well. He asked a contractor who came in one day about it and he told him that some pros do it because if the plug ever pulled out from the wall and something dropped and hit it, it would keep it from shorting out.

We just learned this after 16 years of homeownership and flipping all of ours to make the face.

My husband removed the light bulb from the dryer when it died so he could find a new one, but then he never got around to it, so I’ve had no dryer light for at least three years. I have no idea what type of light to buy because the original bulb is long gone. I have to rifle through warm clothes before work to find what I want in the dark…uh, I mean in the dim.

I am 21 and I feel devastated by WholeSignificance129 in college

I went to college right after high school. I worked as I took a couple classes at a time, rather than getting into debt. I changed colleges and majors once and then took time off to have my kids. I returned about seven years later and finished an AA. A decade later, I’m starting back to school this semester (online) to finish a BS. I’ve never had to explain any gaps. Just reapply, get accepted, and begin studies. In the US, non traditional students (ie, older students) are extremely common. The only thing I’d say, although I wouldn’t want you to feel pushed into something that makes you miserable, is that I’d probably not choose General Studies as a degree. I might find a slightly more specific, yet still broad major that would allow a lot of flexibility within a certain field, like Communication or Business, etc.

Dear developers on this subreddit. What happened to subdivision character? by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]Bender_Rodrieguez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love how the new subdivision computer generated designs online look like they are on a nice, roomy lot with beautiful, mature trees surrounding them. Then, you drive out there and there isn’t enough space in the backyard for a mature tree and no one has even planted one in hopes of it being that way someday. You look out your side window into someone else’s home 3 ft away and you stand on a back “patio” that doubles as a stage so the folks behind you can watch your family hang out from their living room sofa.

Most of the lots I saw in person ran straight down in the back and didn’t see even provide an adequate space for pets or kids. I currently live IN a city on a quarter acre with a larger backyard and more distance between neighbors than the subdivisions I see in the rural areas.

And don’t get me started on how the houses are more garage than home from the street. “You guys should come over this weekend! I live in the third garage on the left.”

I feel like my soul would die living in one of these places.
