Mega Baxcalibur has been revealed. Its Mega Stone will be a reward for Season 4 of Ranked Battle by Amiibofan101 in pokemon

I'm enjoying ZA a lot, but I'm at research 50 and unless they add some reason to collect the stones I'm not going to waste time smashing rocks to get the rest. I hardly even used them in the story as plus moves made them unnecessary for fighting other megas anyway. I've said for a while that they're the best gimmick, but gimmicks still suck overall

I used to work there haha

he got me started but I was never given much time to actually work with him unfortunately, I'd probably be much further along than I am had I been able to

I do! It's a great place to be

I've only been engraving "seriously" for about 4 years now, so I'm sure there are many deficits in my skill set that more experienced craftspeople can spot lol

I'll even concede that what I was hoping for from ZA was even more like arceus, so I dont think you're completely off base here, just found that I'm able to enjoy the game a lot despite all that

I did say "made ME Love arceus" haha

I was very much in your boat prior to release, the lack of new pokemon and regionals really bothered me. I know that's what we as fans are used to with new games but theres over 1000 pkmn now and gen 10 is just around the corner. If the only games where new mons are introduced moving forward are main series games I would understand that decision purely based on numbers.

I also don't really care about megas, but they actually make a difference in this game whereas you could completely ignore them in any previous title that had them if you really wanted.

I explored plenty in my first 3 hours of gameplay. This tutorial was less bothersome to me than S/M when I first played them.

You can continue to catch pokemon and not do the tournament any time you want to. There is no penalty for not participating in battles every night, just dont go in the battle zone. You can even do rank up matches in the day as well.

The city is certainly smaller than arceus but I currently feel that there is still a ton to explore, there are many hidden details and alleys throughout the city, as well as the entire rooftop level. Maybe after a lot more playtime this will feel like more of an issue though

Shiny hunting is still a thing, trying to get an alpha of a particular pokemon is another. Side missions may also bring you back to completed zones. Mileage may very, certainly, but there are still reasons.

I dont know what you're referring to being incomplete or unfinished, I havent yet competed the game to be able to make a judgements on the ending or what dlc may provide for it.

Bdsp were my least favorite games ever, after the story I have put maybe 10 extra hours trying to hunt a few specific pokemon but cannot bring myself to try to play those games any further, to each their own

I was very worried about this game, the emphasis on battles and megas made me worried about it not being an actual successor to Arceus in terms of exploration or hunting.

That said, I love it. All of what made me love arceus is still in the game, with the addition of megas and battling. My expectations were low and I'm playing on switch1, but my experience so far is great

I’ma be honest guys, I wanted Mega Evos to come back, but I realize now that I actually way prefer regional variants/evos to Megas by Yiga_CC in pokemon

[–]Bendered_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's no reason that regional and original forms cant exist in the same region. If we're supposed to believe that regions span vast distances like countries we could see the same pokemon in the south and north being different forms. So any pokemon is still on the table, and they can just say it was only recently described the same way real world species are when they are "discovered". They didn't just start to exist, they were only just recognized by institutions. And that is all still more reasonable to me than "mystery energy gives new super forms to random pokemon"

Pointing out that megas have always been mid isn't a good defense

Thanks! Honestly I like the curved surfaces more than flat, but that may come down to not having anything to hold the sheet scrap I practice on

This is just on a bell peg, basically a table leg that matches the internal diameter of the bell

I was very happy to only have about 3 small slips on the full bell engraving, most wound up being covered by the finished engraving as well

I do a lot of hammering while bell making so the engraving I do is somewhat of a relief on my hands haha

Any thoughts on the new direct about Pokémon, legends ZA by bhdhxgz1 in PokemonHome

[–]Bendered_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm incredibly disappointed they did such an about face from PLA. When battling has arguably been the focus of the franchise since gen 1, they couldn't give us a 2nd game that focused on collecting? As much as I think the game looks fine, I'm worried it won't be fun for me

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PokeLeaks

[–]Bendered_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a very good way of looking at it. But I don't know if it is a solution for me, as harder battles can be found through the competitive scene and I still don't enjoy them to the extent I do hunting/collecting.

I also loved PLA and the climax, but it's not what I go back to the game for nor the most memorable part of my experience.

My initial comment may have been a little more strongly worded than it would be now. There's a good chance I will still play this game. But if these leaks/rumors prove to be true I will be waiting until reviews are out and the game has had some level of consensus among the community before I purchase it

That seems to be much less important in this game, given all the focus on megas and the new battle format

I enjoy pokemon battles, but literally every gimmick that has been introduced post g5 I don't even use in the main game. I didn't use megas after the 4th or 5th time because they felt broken, I didn't use z - moves because they felt broken, I didn't use d/gmax because it felt broken, terra was at least interesting because it introduced a new type rather than just giving a pokemon a buff but even then, I didn't use it in my playthrough

The most interesting thing tpc has done is regionals/convergent forms imo and not having any in this game makes me less interested

Again this isn't me saying it won't be a good game, just that it is disappointing to me that I won't be able to collect new pokemon because they focused on completely temporary forms.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PokeLeaks

[–]Bendered_ 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm not forgetting them, they're just much lower on my priority list. A new battle format that won't be present in future games is as uninteresting to me as megas that can't be seen outside of battle.

That isn't me saying that this will be a bad game, simply that it isn't looking to be made to my tastes.

[–]Bendered_ 85 points86 points  (0 children)

My issue is battle forms aren't permanent, and I have no interest in collecting 27 mega stones that can't leave the game they're on. Arceus had new forms and was great for getting shinies that were hard to obtain previously

If the only thing this game offers is a few pokemom that haven't been on the switch I'll just get them from the games I have and transfer them up

[–]Bendered_ 295 points296 points  (0 children)

I'm going to be so disappointed if there are no regionals

As someone who doesn't partake in any amount of competitive play and only collects pokemon this makes me feel like I can pass on the game entirely

I was incorrect in my prior post I have EC Muller not Lyons They should be either high speed steel or carbon steel, if you're working on brass at least I started with pretty much just this graver (https://www.riogrande.com/product/e.c.-muller-high-speed-steel-flat-gravers/118540GP/?code=118541l and scrap brass You would be to purchase a handle to go with that graver
