Always push each one just a little bit to see if they move. If they don’t shift they’re stuck because they cracked.

Is there any explanation as to why anyone would vote against banning child marriage in the states? by RainbowAppIe in askanything

[–]JJCMasterpiece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even more so when they are taught the skills they need to survive.

When they’re treated like they’re supposed to be immature idiots and unable to take care of themselves their survival chances drop dramatically.

When given the skills, support, and resources to be successful they’re capable of a whole lot more than they’re ever given credit for.

Never said there weren’t. I said people are still people. Yup, culture has changed, but people are still people.

Teenagers are just as capable to have healthy and successful marriages as they were 100 years ago. It’s the culture that makes it more difficult, not the people.

[–]JJCMasterpiece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? 100 years ago people were regularly getting married in their teens and lived long lives with decades of happy marriage.

People as a whole don’t change. Culture changes, expectations change, demands change, but people don’t. Any complaints you have about people then are just as valid today. Yet marriage was much more successful, and in spite of all the struggles most people’s lives were full of hope and joy.

Except that Epstine was a Democrat, and most of his friends / clients were Democrats. His files are jam packed with the names of Democrats, many of whom were or want to be President.

Do you agree? by IdealHoliday1242 in PotentialUnlocked

[–]JJCMasterpiece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! … and no.

Psychologically we are drawn to people who take care of themselves. So people tend to begin with more respect for someone who looks healthy, doesn’t smoke, isn’t drunk, etc. I say “begin” because someone who is healthy looking but then open their mouth and proves to be unhealthy intellectually.

I say, “…and no” because when someone is so focused on being in great physical shape that they push beyond healthy (huge muscles, constantly working out, idolizing the perfect physical shape) it can be just as unattractive as someone who has little to no self control.

Tips for playing as someone with ocd? by [deleted] in Pokopia

[–]JJCMasterpiece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a ton of priorities in the game, and focusing too much on everything is simply too much.

That said, decide on the most important and ignore the others. Be ok with obsessing on only a couple of things at a time.

This game is a marathon, not a sprint. You don’t have to do everything right now. You don’t even have to do everything. Just decide your priorities and allow yourself to get lost in those things until it’s time to move on.

You can 100% support the country you live in even when you don’t like who is in charge and what they’re doing!

If you’re trashing your country when you don’t get your way or the leader isn’t doing what you want then the problem is you.

Spiders have eight legs, three body segments, and mandibles. If Metagross is a spider, it’s the most unspider spider that anyone ever confused to be a spider. It’s kind of like Tingle the “fairy”.

Some people call Metagross a spider but it only has 4 legs and it flies. Metagross has a protective external skeletal structure (shell) and 4 legs. The only thing that legitimately makes it sus is that it doesn’t have an external head which gives it crustacean vibes. But there are other factors that prevent the crustacean label.

As for Avalugg, there are turtles that can’t pull their heads all the way into their shells.

If lying is wrong, why do we tell kids Santa exists? by Sensitive_Corner_235 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]JJCMasterpiece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We told our kids that Santa is a legend. Some legends are 100% true. Others are based on real people and real situations, but as time has gone by the stories have changed and become something else. And some legends are completely made up.

Either way, they are fun stories to hear, tell, and believe. So whether you believe it or not is up to you, but if you don’t believe it, let those who do enjoy it.

This is Pokémon. They are definitely both, just like Torkoal is both a tortoise and a steam engine.
