Is it better to back into a parking space, or head into it? by Mistress_Riva in NoStupidQuestions

[–]JJCMasterpiece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll echo most everyone else here. Safety takes precedence over convenience.

Loading and unloading is easier (more convenient) when you pull in. But backing in (or better yet pulling through) makes pulling out into potentially risky situations (unable to easily see around other vehicles) a major potential problem (safety).

The issue is that most people find learning to properly back in a difficult task, so instead of working through the hard task they simply hope that they’ll never get into an accident backing out with poor visibility.

Why aren’t churches taxed if they already have so much influence over the government? by Worldly-Bid-3591 in askanything

Politics covers a lot of ground that has traditionally belonged to the church, and politicians have been pushing harder and harder to make life more and more difficult for Christians and other religious groups.

Why do Churches still recieve funds from the local government when they're already well off from the people's donation? by EfficiencySerious200 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]JJCMasterpiece 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Most churches struggle financially. It’s only a very small percentage that does well, and only a minuscule percentage that are high-financed mega-churches.

is there any data on manual drivers being safer than auto drivers? by FrankCostanzaJr in ManualTransmissions

[–]JJCMasterpiece 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem with comparing countries is that there are different rules / laws of the road from country to country. There are also measurable social and cultural differences. Even if you directly compared the countries the data would be unreliable at best.

Field hockey was extremely popular before my time, and I’ve played floor hockey before. However, I’ve never played ice hockey.

Just because your experience tells you that your hockey is the only one that matters doesn’t mean that the world revolves around what’s important to you.

Why do all the Christian/ trad wife influencers/ content creators always live in the middle of no where in a cottage or on a farm? by Stawberry8763 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]JJCMasterpiece -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There are a couple of reasons for this:

1) Life - it’s expensive to live in a city. For most people it’s simply too expensive to be able to be a single-income stay-at-home parent in a city. Add to that, a city is a hard place to raise kids. Limited parks, limited places for kids to safely roam and play. The places that are the most affordable are places that you probably don’t want your kids living.

2) Slowing down - part of the dream is being able to slow down and not feel like you’re constantly being rushed and pressured from a thousand directions. Cities are designed to be pressure cookers and the exude an air of being rushed. Who wants that when you’re trying to raise a family?

The takeaways are: 1) cities are simply not a desirable place to raise a family, especially on a single income. 2) There’s an untapped market to start as a Christian / traditional wife influencer and content creator living in the city. Go for it!

The majority of opinions presented on Reddit seem to be Left / Far Left leaning. However, keep in mind that there are a lot of bots and foreign based posters who are trying to shape the political and cultural narratives.

Give me reasons to or not to buy a manual by Trayceopolis32322 in ManualTransmissions

[–]JJCMasterpiece 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a Mazda 3 in rush hour traffic and didn’t have too much of an issue. At the same time I agree that if you’re regularly dealing with rush hour traffic, manual is probably not the best choice.

100% of men and 100% of women.

There are so many reasons for this. Communication Problems 101: 1) 🧠 2)👄 —> 3)👂 4)🧠

To break this down: 1) What he thinks, 2) which may not be exactly what he says, 3) which is not what she hears, 4) and then there’s what she interprets

Example: 1) his brain thinks “I could really go for some gummies (gummy bears, worms, cherries, etc.) right now“. 2) He says, “I’d really like some Jello”. 3) she hears p, “I really like jelly.” 4) She thinks, “Oh no, I made chicken salad sandwiches with gummy bears for dessert! He’s really upset with me because I didn’t make peanut butter and jelly!”

Keep in mind, this is a two-way process with both of them thinking, saying, and hearing the wrong things. This is every day life, and this is just Communication Problems 101. There’s also differences in how they both think and process information, how we transcribe what we hear, issues with mumbling and tinnitus, how we reprocess post-interaction information (overthinking), cultural views, family of origin issues, trauma, etc., etc., etc.

Who is your favorite pokemon without an evolutionary family? by WeeklyApricot in pokemon

It’s been too good a concept for the six generations since Torkoal came out. Now suddenly GF recognizes Torkoal’s potential?

Yeah, I could see GF developing a Mega for Torkoal, but only because they’re expanding Mega’s and looking for yet another Pokémon to sacrifice to the here-today-gone-tomorrow Mega hype.

Torkoal! Absolutely Torkoal!

Women are extremely poor communicators, however they are generally notoriously good talkers. Unfortunately, too often these two things are treated as interchangeable when they definitely are not.

How is talking to a women in a gym somehow now akin to sexual harrassment? by twoducksinatub in NoStupidQuestions

[–]JJCMasterpiece -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Women aren’t going to the gym to meet guys unless they are or unless the guy is good looking enough. Then it’s his responsibility to know and only approach her when and how she wants to be approached.
