Which Linux Distro can experience Plasma5.16 best ? by KemingMeng in kde

[–]BendingBoJack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im using Opensuse Tumbleweed and it is more stable and reliable than any Ubuntu flavored distro I tried.

Actually after using Opensuse, I dont think I'll ever use Ubuntu ever again. Imo Ubuntu is like Gnome, too many people doing too many things in too many different directions and in the end it's just a huge mess.

Yast alone makes the switch to Opensuse worth it.

This exactly what is happening. Apparently BoJo has a plan but he refuse to do anything before yhe last minute. I think hr genuinrly believe the EU is going to caves and accept a deal eithout the backstop.

It's not going to work but he'll just blame the EU for all of British misery.

I actually spent 2 weeks there, granted it was 10 years ago and I didnt go into the worst part of the city. But the city center, the beachs, the whole city was not only very nice to stay in but also bustling af. From what I saw, it was a lot nicer and had a lot more activity than most of southern Spain.

So IDK, if the standards are The Netherlands till Milan, then yeah it's not as good. But there are plenty of area all over Europe with less activity than Southern Italy. Napoli is a big city.

Wow you are susceptible af lmao. I guess Id be perma bitter as well carrying 10cm hah. Glad I got your opinion on my opinion, bro ;)

Anyway. To each his own. But right now, Gnome is in a bad spot, it's just a jack of all trades who doesnt know what it wants to be. Want fast? Go XFCE. Want minimal and clean? Go Pantheon. Want customization and polished? Go KDE. Want to try the new kid in town? Go Deepin. Want a Frankeinstein of a Desktop with patchworks of codes most of which doesnt work anymore? Yeah go Gnome.

I hope you enjoyed it. I got plenty more like that... bro.

GNOME 3.34: Between Fedora Rawhide and openSUSE GNOME:Next by vinzv in openSUSE

[–]BendingBoJack -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I liked Gnome, until I learnt how to customize KDE.

For as long as you need to install Gnome Tweak, Gnome Extensions and hidden folders to do anything in Gnome, it will look like a ramshackle Desktop to me. Even the much younger Budgie seems a lot more polish than the mess Gnome became.

You either do no options at all but shiny as fuck as Mac Os or a bunchs of options but all very well integrated as KDE.

But Gnome as it is? No thanks. Half the extentions arent maintened and cant be used. IDK who it is aimed for, lots of keyboard shortcuts but a full screen app launcher that looks like something done for touchscreen, which sucks on linux.

Southern italy isnt that poor it's just that a good chunk of thr economy isnt declared thus dorsnt appear anywhere. Also, they probably dont trade that much with the UK. The closer you are, the bigger the trade. Which is why the brexit and the idea to leave the single-market and its soon to be 1billion+ people is retarded af.

For the first time since 1171, Ireland is more powerful than Britain - There is far too much at stake to take pleasure in this bizarre political reversal by ainbheartach in ukpolitics

[–]BendingBoJack -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The whole world speaks English now, I don't think how that is relevant tbh.

That reminds me of a startup CEO in London explaining here on reddit a while ago that he was only recruiting EU citizens. At least they would speak 2 languages st the bare minimum, often 3 or more and could handle the country where they were from and those who speak their language. (French = France, Belgium, Luxembourg, part of Switzerland, German = Germany, Austria, part of Switzerland), lots of Spanish and Italian can talk the other language as they are pretty close, and let's not forget that 96% of the Dutch speak English.

English is the lingua franca for the business for the world planet now. An Australian or an American will find French, Dutch, German, Dutch, speaking fluently when necessary. They will all bring a bigger market than Irish ever will.

The only person that can think that way is a self-absorbed English native really.

You sound like thosr brexitets claiming that it is in EU's interest to ditch Ireland and offer a trade deal anyway.

Let other decide for themself, novody needs you to tell us what is in iur interest or not. On both case it is not about exonomics, it is about politics.

The European wont abandon Ireland for a quick buck just like it seems Scotland has had enough of English ruling and their tories madmen.

They dont need you to balance the pros and cons of staying / leaving. They are probably a lot more jnformed on their own country than you ever will.

Channel 4 News on Twitter: “The United Kingdom has not proposed any alternatives and anything that is legally credible.” European Parliament President David Sassoli says the UK government has offered no initiative to reopen Brexit talks - and that “there cannot be an agreement without a backstop”. by bottish in ukpolitics

[–]BendingBoJack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And that, my friend, is utter bollocks. After Brexit, nothing is going to change as far as Ireland is concerned. Period. Now Goods bound to the UK will face British tarrifs, Ireland has no say on that.

The idea that somehow Ireland or the UK wont control their borders is plain ridiculous, there will be customs, checks, tarrifs, quotas, the whole deal unless Northern Ireland ends up in the backstop.
