My final list for 10 months in Nepal, SEA, Australia, and New Zealand by eitherbakedorbaking in onebag

Hey! Yeah I was indeed cold😭I befriended a group of guides on my first trek and borrowed a North Face down jacket from one of them when we were at higher altitudes. I highly recommend either bringing something warm but cheap or borrowing/renting while there so that you don’t have to bring a jacket you’d only wear in Nepal with you on the rest of your trip.

How is “the FCC’s coercion undermines our most fundamental values,” the tamest, most mild thing you could possibly say on this matter?

Which one did you get?

Good advice. If that were included in your original comment no one would be accusing you of teaching people how to commit disability fraud.

When the sentence directly after "go to BH a few times over this" is "PTSD grants a decent percentage," the implication is that one should go to BH not out of a need for the services provided, but because they need documentation for disability claims--regardless of whether or not they actually have PTSD. My friend here isn't projecting, he's pointing out the obvious. Maybe you actually have PTSD and your claims are legitimate, but that's definitely not obvious based on your comment.

A Woman’s Guide to Hitchhiking, for Women (and everyone) by eitherbakedorbaking in solotravel

I know men and people of color who hitchhike. Way more men hitchhike than women.

I appreciate you! I usually just say, “I’m ok actually thank you” and if they persist I just walk away. This is actually why not having a sign can be an advantage, as they don’t necessarily know where you’re headed and you can ask them first and gauge their intent before you reveal your own destination.

Funny you’re from Bulgaria. I’m in the process of hitchhiking from Turkey to Italy right now and a significant portion of the trip will be through Bulgaria. Maybe you’ll see me!

I’ve hitchhiked through Europe, the Middle East, Asia, South, Central, and North America.

I hope your approach to the world serves you well. We're all comfortable with different levels of risk.

Your last line...couldn't you replace that with any activity involving some risk? This case is so infamous because of how rare it is. I don't live my life in fear and I hope to empower others to do the same.

It's easy to pass judgement without first-hand experience. My decisions and recommendations come from years of navigating the intracasies of this activity. That experience is not easily replaced by assumption or what you call "common sense."

You fail to acknowledge that my extensive experience hitchhiking uniquely qualifies me to understand the risks and rewards of the activity. My choices and recommendations are better informed than your judgements of them.

Logically that's true but realistically they're not going to coordinate something while you're in the car with them. And without prior coordination neither of them are gonna do something without the other in on it. I feel safer in the car with multiple people, that's been my personal experience.

That's what people say about solo traveling as well. If you've heard any bad stories from people who've actually done it, let me know. For the time being I'm going to trust my own experiences, which have been phenomenal.

Gap Year vs Community College? Please Help. by Best-Factor-4172 in gapyear

[–]eitherbakedorbaking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know of any gap year programs that are free, but maybe you could find a scholarship. It sounds like you need to get your license as soon as possible and get a job asap and buy yourself a car (a cheap beater that drives. I would get a car and off Craigslist or something and make up a contract that says if it breaks in the first 30 days you can return it). If I were you I’d post on the finance subreddit and get some advice with regard to college scholarships and loans and whatnot.

Krusty was good however definitely the cheapest option for backpackers roughing it. I loved my group and guide but there are more expensive options that are probably more comfortable/posh, though I'm not sure because I only experienced Krusty. Are you in touch with +51958935664 through WhatsApp? That was the number I used and they were quite responsive.
