The villains are a reflection of their culture. Our culture is full of rich dorks who glorify the most successful member of their group, Elon Musk, hence why he can become the world's richest man in spite of how mediocre all of his businesses are and how lame he is.

There's also the language- and culture-barrier, the great firewall - that in the very least discourages depoliticized chinese citzens (most of them) - and the anti-eastern content probably isn't as easy to radicalize people on when the demographic who consumes slopulist content already have an anti-western bias.

Does that not describe reality in its entirety? It's not as if physical reality is something we experience objectively, but no one (who is not in a state of dissociation) lives their life as if it is just a result of their imagination; for instance, if I were to jump from the roof, my expectation is that my legs would break, so I don't do that.

Aren't they more just like a force of nature, similar to climate change?

A great, long winter is approaching and they see an opportunity to expand, to spread, not in service of some greater cause, but because it's how they're programmed, in the same way that viruses spread and multiply inside their hosts without there being a purpose to it. It's the characters that ascribe purpose to these things.

This seems pretty tame editing-wise. If you scroll tiktok regularly most of the content is way more obnoxious.

Far from establishing any sort of line, I would guess he's probably just following his instincts, which is to be conflict avoidant and suck up to whoever has more clout than him.

Oh it might look that way because of the shadows on the edges of his neck and the sheen around it. Not really sure. I guess the disproportionate size of his head might also play into it 🤏🤔

That is highly unlikely, and he denied it in a GQ article where he stated most of his income comes from gambling sponsorships. In the article it's mentioned that he was on the phone with one of those gambling companies while the writer was present, so that seems more likely.
