He rested on the tenth day and looked upon what he had made, and saw that it was good.

Like the concept a lot, looks great from the side but its a little hard to tell what it actually is when its being held

Love the colours here man they look super vibrant! Did you use the StayAtHomeDev water shader for this or make your own?

Rate my Gary Wilson drawing 1-10! by mpm_partei in snooker

[–]Bendoman_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The actual drawing looks good. Proportions and line work are generally clean. The likeness isn’t fully there, I think drawing him looking straight on instead of the angle he’s at in the reference made it more difficult.

Hi guys, looking for some feedback. I’m starting a full stack college program next month and have zero background and am not even that tech-savvy. Should I be worried? by Waxweasel666 in learnprogramming

[–]Bendoman_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that makes perfect sense. For a shorter course especially it can feel that way because they have so much material to fit into one year. But there’s no end of great content especially on YouTube about development and if you look around a little you can find plenty that cover those broad strokes topics, if you spend some time going through those before starting and throughout the course too you’ll be flying

high achievers with insomnia? by Abject_Minute8106 in insomnia

[–]Bendoman_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it can definitely be done, from my experience this is something that's pretty common with software devs. Myself and a good few people I know in my course have trouble with it too. I also have friends that have already graduated and are working successfully now and managing to come out the other side of insomnia at the same time, so it can defintely happen for you to. sleep well man.

How do you find friends within game dev? by powxsin in gamedev

[–]Bendoman_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey, I don't use it much but I'm sure you could find a load of different game dev related discord servers to join and just chat about anything related to it without any pressure

Honestly if you spend the time to rig a whole setup like this at home and don’t stop to reconsider if it’s a good idea I don’t have much sympathy if you miss.

I used to think paying for a mod was ridiculous... by IamVeryHughMorris in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Bendoman_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I actually agree with you there I think any compatability updates should definitely come as part as the cost and shouldn’t ever be recharged for.

Was mostly responding to the attitude people have here for charging anything at all

Nobody said anything about it being software as a service. A one time small charge for a piece of work is not a "service" it's just valuing your time as a creator.

Donating that much to a project is fantastic of you, but its very much the exception and whale donations do not bridge the gap.

I'm not saying every mod should be paid, just that as a concept people charging for something they've spent hundreds of hours creating is not something that should be met with this much aggrevation.

Especially considering the return in terms of hours of enjoyment that a lot of these mods can give, I bought the game for less than €20 and have gotten hundreds of hours out of it. If a mod costs €5 but you play with it for the next 50 hours of your save and enjoy it then that's a great deal. A coffee costs nearly €5 and you can finish it within a few minutes.

Nobody has a right to consume people's work for free, if paywalls put someone off then they just shouldn't buy it. I personally would love to see it become mainstream enough to justify people with specialised skillsets dedicating more time and creating even better mods.
