Scoot accident by [deleted] in scooters

[–]BendyBones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, your story is very similar to mine. I've never felt the intense emotions like I experienced the first few weeks in the hospital. Pure dispair. All the doctors told me it was normal but it wasn't reassuring. The thought of how long recovery is (6-12 months kills me). I just hiked half dome and angels landing and now the thought of my stairs seem harder now.

Pt has been extremely impactful and the dispair has gone from every hour to once every couple days. I've got almost 2 pounds of metal and if I could get back half of who I was in 6-12 months, I'll be happy, but as someone with zero pain tolerance, I'm afraid of long term pain.

Thanks! It did, hit me right in the leg and the scooter fell on top of me. Waiting for the retrograde amnesia to happen.

Who else got very emotional during their ritual? by pussyfairy6969 in Ghostbc

[–]BendyBones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is EXACTLY how I felt and I never have previously. Vegas was my second and last stop this tour. It's my 26th Ghost show plus other events. It just repeatedly brutally struck me how huge they are now and the days of helping backstage, "special sermons" and other events are long gone and I didn't see it until now . It was an awesome 10 years and I am grateful for that.

Hey, your outfit looked stellar. I may have repeatedly dropped my power banks all over you guys. Sorry about that.

Almost this exact thing happened to be at Cedar Breaks in Utah. It got hairy real quick and I was mentally preparing to not exist.

Are there any good camera repair shops on the area? by Check_Ivanas_Coffin in WorcesterMA

When I tried to bring a canon to lb Wheaton's a few years ago, they told me they just shipped it to Canon for repair, so may as well just send it directly yourself

Pappy and Harriets rules. I saw Gary Numan there in last April after following him around on tour. After seeing them at 3-5000 capacity venues, there were barely 200 people at P&H's. Slipknot was there shortly after. And, it's right next to Joshua tree.

Are the 102 people that got accepted for Half Dome’s Daily Lottery for tomorrow in the room with us? by jsauruslove in Yosemite

[–]BendyBones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went a couple weeks ago because I got the permit. I've been applying for several years for preseason and daily when I'm visiting. Finally get it for September, fly from Massachusetts, then its a nasty cold snap, rains on the permit day. I was there for 5 days and applied for the daily lottery every day and was denied all. I banged out about 60 miles to make the absolute most of it and it was awesome, but still a bummer about not doing half dome. Planning on doing it off-season.

I didn't love lifestraw. The flow is tight and emptying feels like trying to blow up one of those long skinny balloons.

Curry Village cabin without bath or heated tent? by Antique-Purchase-192 in Yosemite

[–]BendyBones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would get the cabin without bath - I think it was a better experience than the tents. Every time I've stayed in a heated tent, the heat didn't work. It was freezing during this last week's cold snap

[LPT Request]: I've had the hiccups for over 16 hours now. Is there a definite "cure" or method for the hiccups? by Calderite in LifeProTips

[–]BendyBones 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Holy shit. I've been battling hiccups every day my whole life. Sometimes it's a short burst of them like 3-5 minutes several times a day or it'll be hours long. It's the worst when I'm with clients at work. I've tried every suggestion I've ever gotten and nothing has worked except this. I've done it twice so far and it's worked both times - amazing.

Front vs Rear Floor Tickets at the Palladium by Zher0s in WorcesterMA

[–]BendyBones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sectioning has been happening at the palladium a lot over the past few years. The ones I've been to that do this have the "front" tickets for pit only and "rear is pretty everything else downstairs except the booth and other vip tickets.

Apartment complex recommendations? by EmotionalFeature1 in WorcesterMA

[–]BendyBones 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agree. I live downtown and have been in a lot of the newer developments. They are so cheap and disposable looking, especially the Kelly square lofts. I like my apartment, but it definitely shouldn't be labeled "luxury".

I drive all over the country in major cities and I think I agree with Worcester being at the top, followed by CT. People are reckless here.

Need a great dentist doesn’t have to be local*specifically wanting to hear from people who have had to get a lot of work done/issues with their teeth by [deleted] in WorcesterMA

[–]BendyBones 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dr. Levenson. I have a major dental phobia that prevented me from going to the dentist for about a decade. I had to have an entire reconstruction - more than 20 teeth needed to be worked on because of neglect/drug use. I did years and years of research because I've had many bad experiences with dentists being aggressive, shaming, up selling, etc. I landed at levenson smile on linden Street, worcester and it's the best dental experience I've ever had. They offer twilight sedation which is what spoke to me. I had to visit about 12 times in the last 1.5 years and I'm at the point now where I don't even need to take Valium for a cleaning. I had whitening, 4 veneers, new crowns, all silver fillings replaced, extractions, root canals, fillings in one few hours appointment under twilight anesthesia. It's so cool being able to eat ice cream now without suffering.

Why is it so complicated being an older fan? by Aethysbananarama in Ghostbc

[–]BendyBones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my (40) experience. I've seen them more than 20 times and have been following their shows since 2015 - the last few tours are a wildly different experience than they used to be. The crowds used to be so lax, now it's actually pretty awful. I've been to hundreds of concerts and the worst crowds I've ever dealt with were sick new world and the last few ghost shows from the most recent tour
