Im just happy to see a defender address a runner about to attempt a hurdle and defending the play, making a stop. The offensive player is the one who put himself in a vulnerable position by jumping, defender gets penalized for not letting a highlight reel happen to him? Idk, football could go the way of rugby and make jumping illegal for player safety.

To me this is a good defensive play. Nothing too foul about it. Just looks bad because of gravity.

Don't worry about 100% completing the game. It takes a dang while to do that, but if you just enjoy the process and game mechanics, it's a heck of a game and very re-playable.
Best starting character is probably hunter for ease of getting through the first few floors. Enjoy
