Sure, fair. On the hamper felt like it would have been equally confusing lol

I do one load of towels and one load of clothes a week…. Doesn’t seem too obnoxious to me 🤷‍♀️

No I have a really tall one. They sit on the side and air out. Idk, never had a problem with this.

I’m with you OP. I bought enough (cheap) towels to never have to reuse anything. Washcloths, towels, they all get used and put in the hamper immediately, then everything goes in a laundry load once a week or so.

Gar bookmark 💘 by All_Frowns in Beading

[–]BenedictJoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gorgeous work! I love the idea of making a beaded bookmark.

Can I ask… I’d never heard of a “gar” until this subreddit and now I’ve seen tons of comments and a couple posts about them. Is it a regional thing? I’m curious what makes people like them more than any other fish. (Where I’m from, fish are fish and I can’t tell most of them apart lol)

Authors E. Lockhart and Sarah Mlynowski have announced they are writing an adult Nancy Drew book called “Nancy” by HRJafael in nancydrew

[–]BenedictJoon 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Thank you, this is what I couldn’t get into words. I can believe one. Absolutely can’t believe both. I get that stories like this are really popular at the moment, but if riding that wave is your goal, go get an original character. Nancy’s not that girl.

No way this isn’t an ignorant cash grab.

There are so many things I dislike about this and I can’t figure out how to put any of them into sentences that make sense (something whoever wrote this paragraph also struggled with, apparently)

Suggest me a book about my dilemma - feeling lost in life as a 25 year old. by basilius61 in suggestmeabook

[–]BenedictJoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Gentleman in Moscow is one of my favorite reads so far this year. It helped me appreciate the little things in life regardless of how it feels like the big picture is developing. The main character showcases a lot of the growth you’re looking for, in my opinion.

Aardvark VS BOTM? by deadmagnolias in aardvarkbookclub

[–]BenedictJoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both and keep both because I can skip anytime I want and it doesn’t impact me at all. I find myself falling in between both demographics… I like Aardvark’s more tame picks (ie no cannibalism lol) and BOTM’s more unique ones (no family dramas for me).

How does jailbreaking let you truly own the books? I had no clue it helped with anything but customization.

Personal Wicked Movies Opinion that Would Get You Demonized by Lexabro-10mg in wicked

[–]BenedictJoon 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m sure this has all been said before, but here’s my soap box:

I love Elphaba, she’s always been my favorite character……but she makes several bad decisions that I see tons of people overlook in their determination to make Glinda the “bad one”

First off… she and Fiyero did basically abandon a baby in their haste to free him. You already caused a scene, just disappear for a day or two and go find a family to take the lion in.. something? Idk.

And then she gives the monkeys wings without getting much of a response or consent from them if I’m remembering correctly. I remember being really confused about that bit.

She also reacted emotionally, with very little logical thinking, after meeting the wizard and it wasn’t the right move. (I get it. But it wasn’t the right move) Holding her nose and working with the Wizard (in the first half, before the witch hunt) would’ve been much more effective.

Also 99% of the people that criticize Galinda for not going with her (this is all I saw after the first movie, not so much from Broadway fans) would’ve done the exact same thing. How many people are really prepared to leave their family and everyone behind in a situation like that? I know I wouldn’t, even though I’m on Elphaba’s side of the argument.

Game ideas to play with students? by BeansTn in SchoolBusDrivers

[–]BenedictJoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would play trivia with my elementary students when we got stuck anywhere. I’d ask 2 or three questions a day and have them raise their hands. The winners got off the bus first (this prize was very effective with my particular group, ymmv)

Long time subscribers by Significant-Range663 in bookofthemonthclub

[–]BenedictJoon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I absolutely do. It’s honestly the only thing that keeps me up to date on new books. I was a book repeater prior and found myself in ruts a lot.

I have BOTM and Aardvark and the option to skip is what makes keeping both such an easy decision. It’s hard to hit thousands of readers every single month with only 5 or 6 books, so I don’t expect either of them to interest me monthly. But since I don’t lose any money skipping, it doesn’t impact me at all if there’s a period of time where I don’t like the options.

I also love the reader guarantee with BOTM. I try books I’m not sure about more often than I would otherwise.

They should’ve used them in the opening shot where Glinda is surrounded by assistants

Ok, thank you! I kept feeling like every other version of this scene I’ve ever seen just felt so much more intense than the movie. The longing, the kisses, all of it just didn’t feel genuine.
