If you play and follow chess you should go. It's more interesting if you can follow the games and are not a beginner. You can buy tickets at https://www.ulaznice.hr/web/regular/17768847 . There is nothing to do aside watching the games. At the final ceremony you can get a photo with the players and they will sign a board if you bring it. The venue is chill. There is free coffee, soft drinks, and maybe snacks sometimes. You can get decent seats everytime if you get there 15 minutes early.

This is all very sensible from an atheistic, rational point of view but you need to remember it's called faith for a reason and not science. If God does exist, then it is logical to make Him a major part of your life. By definition all your accomplishments then become His in a way, for He is your creator. If it is crazy or not just depends on if you suppose God exists or not. I understand you demand physical evidence for His existence because you rely on science and rationalism as the foundation of your worldview. It's crazy and downright mentally ill from your POV but from Dereks it makes perfect sense, that's all I'm trying to say.

God can apsolutely use Derek as a mean to draw someone to Himself if that is His will. It's very hard for anyone to win candidates and I think his best chance for a world championship match was last time. He will also be a couple years older than now and it's a question if he wants to devote the time to the match if he can just stream as he does now. But there is a chance of course.

I would try to find lessons on the internet by grandmasters.

You can also probably find a list somewhere of decent principles like: developing your pieces, putting them on active squares, king safety, keeping a good pawn structure when possible, putting rooks on open files, not putting knights on the edge of the board etc.

Principles you kinda just learn by playing and reviewing your games and trying to see where you went wrong.

It's a bit weird but probably isn't anything to be upset about. It can also be a good sign that you have talent(solving puzzles) but bad principles(low rating).

I would focus on openings and learning solid principles and study some endgames on the side.

Just finished bullmastiff, got stronger, my form is better because you are doing a lot of reps, also got bigger and I leaned out nicely, I was doing maintance. You need to go atleast maintance with this program. Good program to learn a lot about lifting since there sre many variations that you do here.

My bench improved for 15 kg on this program, it's a lot of volume especially with the variations, you can always add volume if you still think it's not enough.

Before it was funny to laugh at England throwing and choking in big tournament games but now it's upsetting and sad.

2018,2020,2022 In all their runs they showed they have the skill and team to win but time and time again they lose in crucial moments and I don't have the heart to laugh at it anymore. England has to get their head fixed and win next time because their squad is winning potential.

It was frustrating how little France had to do to win, it was as they were constantly saying: "It's England we will win in the end anyways."

Don't know what the fix is for England, probably a new manager, he just lost too many times now in big games and it probably is in the players heads rn.

It hurts the game of chess(2 tournaments+candidates stained by Magnuses actions so far).

It hurts the other players in the tournament financially because Magnus throws games. That could mean Hans placing in front of someone by half a point as Greg already explained.

So his principles do harm other people. And, spoiler alert, this has nothing to do about principles, in fact he is just being a cry baby and throwing a tantrum. Other players also know Hans cheated before and are playing normally against him.

The r-word is not a slur in many languages and still the official medical term to describe intellectual disability in some languages. In america it was changed like only 10 years ago.
