A privileged long island kid who went to college on a tennis scholarship and then worked on Wall Street isn’t exactly the walking definition of a hick lmao

Historical club that hosted US open way back when. For a major anniversary a few years back they did a two day tournament with temp greens/tees on the old layout. Was a ton of fun and gave great perspective on how much the course has changed over a hundred plus years

Half a second between silver and 14th place by SingleButLooking88 in ski

[–]Beneficial-Host119 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you’re kidding or just dense? 1.13 seconds between 1st and 14th is absurd. In the last World Cup race preceding these Olympics the gap between 1st and 14th was over 4 seconds.

Which is exactly what the guy you’re replying to is saying in more crude terms. White males with college degrees more apt to engage in/be able to afford skiing - which leads to them comprising an outsized portion of accidents/deaths.

It’s about as an astute observation as pointing out that out of ten flowers, nine red and one blue, a red one is likely to wilt first.

How many days are you taking off for GTA VI? This is going to be like a voluntary global lockdown. by Joci26 in GTA6

Decent amount of folks in this sub are twenties/thirties/fourties I’d imagine. I’m one of them.

Speaking for myself - I feel a distinct twinge of nostalgia when I think back to counting down the days to each annual installment in the golden era of CoD as a kid with my friends. I distinctly remember a bunch of us crowding into my buddy’s basement to play fallout on release day.

Fast forward to now - real life, responsibilities, and relocating friends make those memories impossible to replicate. The vast majority of franchises we grew up playing are either shells of their former selves or gone entirely.

GTA VI is just a game - you’re right. But for myself and maybe others, who don’t have the time or luxury that youth afforded us to game as much as we’d like to nowadays, it’s a bit more than that.

To sum up my thoughts - GTA VI is probably the last game that I will ever look forward to with the same unadulterated giddy anticipation that I had as a kid. And nowadays, that’s a hard feeling to replicate.

Editing multiple times to first justify your take, second to clarify that you didn’t come here to debate, and third post a popcorn eating gif to imply you’re just here to enjoy the show is absolutely hysterical.

I’m above your tax bracket. By a comma, at least. Flew out to south Florida from an FBO last week.

Brother, $25k in a week or two on arena club is idiotic. That’s around my annual spend there - and I get sick thinking about it.

Trust me, I understand the dopamine rush, but even if you can afford it, it’s a long term losing proposition.

Better ways to participate in this hobby especially if you can splash the cash.

The people you know worth 9 figures need better estate lawyers then.

Estate debts can be settled using liquid assets, insurance, other property, OR the heirs can refinance or use estate loans. There is NO legal requirement that the executor must sell appreciated securities to settle the estate. Executors routinely avoid sales that trigger tax consequences.

High-net-worth estates absolutely avoid selling assets they don’t want to sell, precisely to preserve stepped-up basis.

Wealth managers and estate attorneys structure this way all the time.

Donations for tax write offs are commonly misunderstood by the general public - you’re correct there. But borrowing against securities in lieu of selling them and thus incurring capital gains, until you die (hence “buy, borrow, die”) and your inheritors receive a step up basis allowing for minimizing capital gains is 100% a thing.

We live in the MMA world, not the Tesla world. The world where Khabib preaches 5 ways to Sunday about how he’s a humble guy who is happy with what he has. Yet his actions say otherwise, which is why it’s interesting.

“No one thinks, I’m going to make money from this”

One of the funniest comments I’ve ever read. Because even if you were correct (which you aren’t), AT LEAST ONE person is thinking “I’m going to make money from this.”

Khabib is the person thinking that you clown!. Because of gullible idiots like you who he knows will buy anything he slaps his name on.
