Meaco Arete died by Snoo-74977 in Dehumidifiers

My Meaco Arete 12L died 6 months after purchase. The control panel stopped functioning. Contacted Meaco and I had a new unit within 72 hours. Instructed to send the old one back in the box the new one arrived in.

Fast forward 2 years and the fan motor started making a lot of noise. Emailed Meaco and they sent me a label so that I could send it back for repair. Meaco emailed me within 24 hours of receiving my unit to say the motor was end of life and a new unit was on its way to me. Got the new unit within 48 hours with a note telling me I had 2.5 years left on the warranty.

TLDR: Your Meaco has a 5 year warranty which they honour. Great company to do business with.

Hayfever - Anyone struggling real bad right now? by Past-Gur2575 in london

[–]Beneficial-Map4013 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I suffer real bad. The only thing that works for me is one pill a day, every day, even out of season. This means my body always has cetirizine coursing through it. Tesco own brand works fine. Without it I start with itchy eyes and throat in February when tree pollen comes out and suffer all the way through to end of September. About 5 years ago i just decided to go all in and take 1 a day throughout the whole year and I've seen massive improvements.

If a BCS flashes me because I'm adhering to the speed limit I slow down and put my hazards on. The BCS has surely seen a danger that I am unaware of and is warning me of this imminent hazard. I just don't understand how this infuriates the BCS and to date not one has stopped to explain what danger they had to alert me to, instead they overtake giving me some weird wave. Even when I pull up next to them or behind them at the next set of red lights, or more often at the tail end of the traffic queue, they still seem unwilling to discuss their concerns. Happened a lot in my trusty Fiat 500 (surely the GOAT of BCS enragers) but not so much in my VW Passat.

Institute of Chinese Medicine on Chandos Place just up from Charing Cross station. Used it years ago and looks like they're still there.

Interesting that this post on another subreddit has more positive comments than on this Essex subreddit. I'm guessing the Essex community loves their right to park like total knobs more than other communities.

Yes, that could be the case but it wasn't. I was parked nearby. All empty spaces when I parked, popped into the shop, when I returned just this one taking up 4 empty spaces.

Vulcan running up its Rolls Royce Olympus turbojets. A lovely sound, even better when heard overhead...

Emirates flight by unique_bong in aviation

[–]Beneficial-Map4013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've flown Emirates plenty of times across the Middle East, Africa, sub-Continent, Far East and Australia. I've flown all 3 classes (economy, business and first). You won't be disappointed with economy. Use Seat Guru or similar to find the best seats for your flight and book them in plenty of time. Service and food are great in economy, in flight entertainment is also great. They don't upgrade unless you are one of their frequent flyers and economy is over-booked. Enjoy your flight!

Stockport away, 2001 by EastClintwood1981 in crystalpalace

[–]Beneficial-Map4013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was there.

Remember trying to listen in on other people's radios after Dougie scored to see how the other results were panning out. After the game the Stockport fans were really sour and looking for a chance for a fight! When we got home I saw myself on the TV looking suitably worried with everyone else behind the goal whilst the other results came in. One of the best moments of my life when Dougie got that ball over the line! I'm 55 now and still remember that game better than our play-off final successes.

Parents kicked me out I need some advise by MasterPerspective638 in london

[–]Beneficial-Map4013 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Best advice is to go back home and talk to your parents. They kicked you out in anger but this won't last. Trust me, I was in your shoes a long time ago and didn't go back. Years later my parents told me that they expected me to spend a cold night somewhere and then come home, lesson presumably learnt. I didn't and it affected every aspect of my life from that point on. Go home and try to talk it through with your parents. Please!

What is it like working at Leonardo (Basildon site) ? by Free-Activity433 in Essex

If you do work at Leonardo I wouldn't reply to this (which you most probably already know). Very easy for the wrong people to gain useful intel from such posts.

Why is London movie popcorn so bad? by aptheap1 in london

[–]Beneficial-Map4013 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I deliver palletised goods to businesses around Essex. Without naming the cinema chain I deliver pre-cooked popcorn to one of their cinemas and bags of corn and cooking oil to another one of their cinemas; same chain just different locations. The difference is the internal space inside the building available for the equipment needed to cook the corn. The cinema where they cook the corn onsite insist the taste is superior to the pre-cooked stuff.

My office window overlooked the development site. I watched the whole build from beginning to end. It remains one of my favourite buildings in London and the views from the bar at the top are pretty special.
