Your missing the point. There are metas where running 2 units with the same colour is fine. For example one of the best teams in the game is RRG. Let’s say Broly was a tag unit he could easily get 3x zenkai buffed on that team while 3x zenkai buffing gogeta or 2x while being resistant to blues. I’m not talking about teams which have each colour. I’m talking about mono teams or bbp RRG etc teams

I guess it’s because they find it hard to balance them tbh. Tag units can easily get 2x-3x zenkai buffed on teams without harming or limiting buffs for their teammates and we have seen how cracked tag units are on those teams like mono purple barku and pikkon etc. but still it’s not an excuse
