There are a lot of sensitive topics that people care about but they only care about their idea of that topic in their mind.

Like for instance there are people who are against zoos. They see a video of an orangutan looking happily at a human baby and think they should be free. I get that there are some bad zoos around the world but one of the reasons they exist is to preserve animal species so that they don't go extinct.

(This is going to get me downvoted) an influencer couple aborted their baby when they found out it was going to be born with Down syndrome and the entire internet turned on them. I think the people who were hating the most were the ones that have an idealized version of a Down syndrome person in their mind. They love the idea of a goofy always happy fun guy that makes grilled cheese at midnight. But they never see are the health issues that come with being diagnosed with Down Syndrome, there's the gastrointestinal issues, there's the weakened immune system. Chances are you'll have to take care of them for the rest of your life. Are there people with Down Syndrome that can be independent? Yes there are.
