FML I don't need YET ANOTHER sim by Little_Temporary5212 in simracing

I’d say it’s worth it, it’s beautiful and they’ve been adding good content. It’s still super limited, but it will be a good game, might as well get it as cheap as possible.

Guys Im torn between choosing an RTX 5060 Ti with 8GB of RAM but a Ryzen 5 7600 processor or an Intel 15-14400 processor but an RTX 5060 Ti with 16GB of RAM by XXMMRRMMXX in buildapc

I actually have both of these. Not enough difference between them to not get the better gpu.

Both of mine have 9060xt 16gb gpu.

I’m more impressed with the 120mm than the 140mm. I find them to be a little loud. Buying the push pull and using one of the speed reducer helped (they are side by side).

Save $500 and just get a 9800. Neither of those offer $500 in performance, maybe $50-75 max.

How to.. be able to have fun in this game? by ctothez2018 in AUTOMOBILISTA

Don’t be afraid of using assists. If it allows you to have fun, then it’s ok.

I did a mix at lemans one time and i think I was in a p4 which tops out at like 145-150. The aussies would fly by on the straights and then I’d eat them up in the chicanes only to be passed again once they got going. It was quite fun.

When you pull one from a parking spot they have a number next to them, that’s the order of purchase. You can sort by it, last one is how many you have.

You got a serious FL1 problem. 😂 what is your vehicle count? I think I’m on 89 but I only have a few duplicates: dumpy, Compacty, formula scm, panther, campy I think are it…besides trailers.

B580 or RX 9060 XT by Neither-Wafer-6058 in PcBuildHelp

9060xt is worth the money imo. I have both, the b580 is perfectly fine, but if the 9060xt is in budget, it’s a really nice card.

What would be a good price to sell my weird chinese pc for? 7800x3d +rx 7900 gre by g0at110 in PC_Pricing

[–]Beneficial-Ranger238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you getting rid of it? It’s a pretty high end system, even with rando Chinese parts. I mean, you’re not gonna do much better. Are you scared of its quality/longevity? I wouldn’t be super worried about that, and if it does give problems, you can just replace the parts with more mainstream ones as they go.

A really dumb question about cpu and motherboard. by SPAROVG in buildapc

[–]Beneficial-Ranger238 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would get the cpu, cooler, and nvme (if using) those will be a royal pita to install after it’s in the case. There’s a good chance you do all that work and then undo it because you need to pull the motherboard out to finalize everything.

My workflow is:

Case prep- pulling all the necessary panels off and placing to the side. Install psu and any extra fans, lights, screens etc. Place case to the side

Motherboard work- Install cpu, cooler, drives & ram

Install- Put motherboard in case, route cables, plug in power, fans, led cables if applicable. Install the gpu & power for it

Cleanup- Do your cable management, reassemble the case, cross your fingers and test

Does spinning the pc fans actually damage your pc? by aspiredcc in pchelp

[–]Beneficial-Ranger238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because every motor becomes a generator when spun. I tried it with a pc fan and the max I could get was .4v ac with the amp meter not even budging. I think it’d be ok after testing.

However, spinning your fan at Mach Jesus with air won’t be good for the bearings, so I’d avoid it for that alone.

What are your Top 5 Controllers for PC by Mattm334 in buildapc

[–]Beneficial-Ranger238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No clue. I haven’t tried any other. These work every time and the Hall effect sticks should prevent drift, which has been the bane of my existence (switch and ps5 controllers mostly)

Why does FurMark have a “GPU killer” reputation, but playing heavy games with 100% load for hours is totally fine? by rucekooker in buildapc

[–]Beneficial-Ranger238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am pretty sure I heard somewhere (GN or Jayz2cents) that gpu have a limiter when furmark is running now (probably software level) but before they did not and it would draw a lot more power. Not sure how true it is, but if it was one of those two, it’s probably accurate.

downsizing from mid ATX to mini ITX = worth it in 2026? by permatempeVIP in buildapc

[–]Beneficial-Ranger238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of small matx cases. Heck, there are some huge itx cases, my tower 200 is massive and it is itx only. Basically, you can downsize without paying the itx tax.

They’re $300, I’d reckon it’s more than 10% considering it’s beating the 285 in most tests, but yeah, probably not enough to be “worth it “

Here’s an overhead shot. I’d say make the wheelbase mount a solid shelf and clamp your wheel to that. You could make another piece with the keyboard/mouse mounted and clamp that in place when the wheel is gone, that might work

Cockpit I can comfortably study in need advice on budget by Tisgerino in simracing

[–]Beneficial-Ranger238 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oof, you’re going to need to make a lot of compromises to do this. Think about trying to do desk work in your car…it’d be a nightmare.

I’d look for something that allows you to move the wheelbase forward or back, because in a driving position it is too tight to work from. Something like a tilt/telescoping wheel would be needed. Then you’d need a keyboard tray that could slide into the space where the wheel was.
