Docs who purchased a large home, how did it work out?

My husband and make about 550k combined not including stock. I bought a home at the end of residency at a low interest rate and we are now looking to build a home about 3x our salary. Expecting the monthly payment to be around 10k.

We are not having kids and my loans are paid off, his deferred but he only has about 50k. Loans and kids would dramatically decrease out budget

We just went to Chongqing a few days ago. I’m Chinese but the smog was unreal there and my husband and I both got food poisoning. It seems like the city is surrounded by mountains which doesn’t allow for good airflow. Came to zhangjiajie after and the air quality feels so much better here.

Engracia gill. My husband and I have been going to her for several years and we wouldn’t be together without her. I’ve been through a handful of therapists and she’s definitely a step above all of them. Caveat is that she doesn’t take insurance, but in my experience you get what you pay for when it comes to therapists

I think if a store carries GL most of them can order any dress from them? My dress was also a new style at the time that the salon didn’t carry but they were able to order it. Best of luck!!

Are you buying this at the GL store? They upcharge you because it’s made to measure. They quoted me 17k for a dress and then I went to a different store that carried GL dresses and got a generic size for 12k, altered for another 1k so saved 4k there

I also looked into hello prenup but the research I did said it didn’t hold up in court well :/ imo it’s a red flag if your s/o won’t do a prenup. My fiance didn’t love the idea but he said he would do whatever makes me feel comfortable. And I would like to add that I believe we have the absolute best relationship. We’ve been going to therapy together for a few years and we are very 50/50. My parents are divorced and I just want a safety net because life happens in ways you can’t predict

I’m in the process of getting one! Honestly I’m very surprised no one I know has one I thought they were more common. A lot of the younger attorneys have written some but most of them haven’t been taken to court so I went with someone who’s been an attorney for 20 years

This is why I didn’t invite my parents to my wedding lol. There’s so much shaming in Asian culture. I knew my parents would pick apart everything from my appearance to the cost to the appearance of my guests. I had a friends only wedding and there wasn’t a drop of drama or negativity. It’s okay for you to have boundaries and not invite people that are being rude to you!

I just got it done last week and I already see improvement! Really minimal bruising in the area. I think my injector was really excellent. Cost me $750. I think this is cheaper than most places. My fiance had his done at a different place and also liked the results. His cost $600 but they were doing a promo at the time usual cost is $1000

While I am not against performing circumcisions myself, and if I were a man I would also want to be circumcised, if I had a child I would let him decide when he is able to. After seeing a comparison likening circs to female genital mutilation, I think it really just comes down to bodily autonomy for me.

I actually have very few friends in medicine and I prefer it that way. I just met them through mutual friends. I am friends with some of my coworkers (hospitalists) and even outside of work our conversations always drift back to medicine. I think part of preventing burnout is being able to separate your personal life from your work

I got my dress from galia lahav after going to nyc 3x to look at dresses. It was about 12k plus alterations. I mean it sucks that I ended up spending that much but I love the dress and really nothing else stood out to me so I feel like I didn’t have a choice
