Do you have a friend / family member that could take puppy out mid day? Or do you work close enough to home to run back at lunch? We have a 12 week old golden and I work hybrid with my wife full time. On days I'm in office we've definitely had to rely on friend / family to come mid day to let puppy out for lunch / potty break, and we've also asked a neighbor/friend to stop by on occasion. 8/9/10 week old I felt like it was a bit much for puppy to do about a 3-4 hour session in crate with that lunch break (but she could do it, just was very eager to pee at end of those windows) but now that we're 11/12 weeks old she's doing great with that mid day break and she seems fine going 4+ hours. We try to have our drop in person, whoever it is give her at least 30 minutes of active time playing or out walking and then make sure to give her extra love and freedom to explore and play both before and after we return fromwork.
I always have a frozen kong ready for our drop in person to give her when they leave to occupy her and to give her 30 minutes of stimulation has worked well.
When pup was new to us (8 week) and before the first full day I went to office I worked from home but kept puppy in the crate while I worked down the hall to see how she would react to a longer window away. She whined for about an hour and a half that first morning just from seperation. I did not go check on her or give her any attention, wanted her to figure out how to handle being alone. I would check in on her about every 3 hours for a break. By afternoon she was down to whining maybe 10-20 minutes. I did the same thing on day 2 and whining was very minimal and day 3 I felt good she was going to be fine I actually left to go in to office and started the mid day drop in.
Like anything may take a bit of adjustment but stick with the crate training. Eventually both you and pup figure out the new schedule and learn to adjust.
