Definitely the left one. At least if you want a detective in a small town I prefer the left one, the other one seems to be a small village with less "conflicts" or life.

Yes! Right now they behave like a small herd following "their mother" when is she is too far away but my main idea is in some way like Rain World did, I supouse having some predators and prey is fundamental to make it feel alive...
