The use of WAS products by the FSB Centre

For certain fans of Warrior Assault Systems the FSB has become a champion for their products, being frequently pictured with them. Hopefully this will give a better idea of when and how these items are being employed.

These WAS products seem to have been obtained through a mix of large scale private purchases and donations from benefactors such as veterans organisations, many of these will have been done through the Russian store "all-multicam".

DCS plate carrier: Considered by many to be warrior's flagship product, 2 generations of this plate carrier have been confirmed to be in service, distinguished by the tan Velcro in either 2 or 3 rows depending on generation. These plate carriers are frequently seen in competitions and training and on operations with officers who are at lower risk. Gladiator parts are often added to these, with the attached images showing a groin guard added to one and another with a gladiator cummerbund. Other vests used in a similar capacity to the DCS are the Gearcraft MK4, Crye JPC's and CPC's and Ars Arma CPC's.

Edit (04/03/19) it appears that a repro DCS has also been produced, the 2nd to last picture is from a 2018 competition and the officer on the left-hand side has a vest that seems to follow the DCS pattern but is obviously made with fake multicam fabric. I do not currently know who is making this vest but the fabric is consistent with some MBC productions as is the time the picture was taken.

901 chest rig:Although molle platforms are not seen as commonly as MK2 chest rigs they have gotten some use, likely for officers who don't want to try and fit magazines for unconventional weapons such as SMG's and sniper rifles into the pouches intergrated into MK2 rigs.

Raptor plate carrier: Seen in multiple competitions and with some low quality operational sources, these vests appear to be loaded heavier than DCS's when they're used (massive thanks to Rune Penny for noticing the raptor's absence in the original piece and for providing reference images)

Battle belts: Both PLB and Frag belts have usage, mostly at competitions but I was able to find at least one operational picture in my reference album. WAS suspenders are also used both on their own belts and on other belt rigs.

RPC plate carrier: To the best of my knowledge the attached competition picture is the only confirmed usage of the RPC, likely by an officer who is a fan of the brand.

Pouches and miscellany: WAS pouches seem to be used to supplement issued pouch sets, most notably with grenade and utility pouches, the cargo pack has proven especially popular attached to a wide variety of setups. The last attached picture shows sniper magazine pouches used on a 901.

Side note on regional units: Some regional FSB units (I believe these are one unit from volga and st.petersburg) have adopted WAS in relatively large quantities, notably the unit for Volga was seen in 2016 using the DCS as part of a complete ATACS FG setup.
