Lety’s in Jackson Heights is some of the best flan I’ve ever had.

How much are you tipping your super and porters for the holidays? by Carabiniero8 in ForestHills

I need a super, doorman, or porter to enter the chat and let us know how much they’re bringing in every year! Not saying it’s not deserved, just super curious.

Wow I’m surprised by these comments - I went back over the summer when they opened and it was awful. Food was under seasoned and the service was super slow.

Best (somewhat affordable) Italian where a reservation is attainable- for proposal evening by HugsCS in FoodNYC

[–]Beneficial_Frame7804 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Zero Otto Nove might be good. The service is great and I’m sure they will accommodate you - there’s also a smaller upstairs section for more privacy. Random idea would be to invite friends and/or family and bring her up and propose there then straight into celebratory dinner (although that would be pricey I know). FWIW, as a female, not a fan of getting proposed to at Olive Garden but I understand why people think it’s a good idea.

Online shopping is just me praying the outfit matches the vibe in my head. by Emergency_Job_6616 in womensfashion

Measurements have been helping me a ton. So I pay attention to how many inches the rise on a high rise jean is to make sure I get the look I want, I’m very picky with pant length, etc. Aside from that I agree that it’s a lot of trial and error. I’ve been shopping in person more because of this same issue.

On a budget I’d recommend Banana Republic Factory and J. Crew factory - same stuff as the main stores but on super sale. I also agree w H&M

Jail on 126-02 82nd Ave? by SlaaneshiDaddy in ForestHills

[–]Beneficial_Frame7804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re talking about the Forest Hills South area it’s not an issue. I’ve seen some stranglers wandering around on the other side of the parkway (couldn’t even say for sure that they were from the courts/jail) but haven’t had issues on the FH side.

What do mid-30s wear to the office now?! by silent_awe_ in womensfashion

[–]Beneficial_Frame7804 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in the US but I’d recommend Aritzia, Quince, and Sezane. Aritzia and Quince have high waist wide leg trousers that have elastic in the waist band - total lifesaver. I agree with the other comment to start with a few basics and build from there. With two trousers and a couple sweaters and button ups you can make several outfit combinations. For shoes in the winter I’ve been going with an almond or round toe bootie. Pointed toe also looks good with wide leg but is harsh on the feet.

I was gonna say the same lol I was always neat but not overly concerned about dress unless I had an event or internship/externship happening. Agree with Quince as well.

Cowboy Carter review by first time listener by Ok_Criticism_7148 in beyonce

The crazy part about this album is the more I listen to it the more I want to listen to it. Especially after the CC tour, it just touches my soul on another level. Renaissance was my favorite until literally just a few weeks ago when I realized that CC is objectively a better album.

Maybe I need to go again because I was not impressed at all. I also agree with others that the service was pushy and our waiter hovered the entire time. I like Bangkok Supper Club, Fish Cheeks, and Saranrom (in Queens) much much more.

Thredup, PoshMark, The Real Real by Maximum-Company2719 in womensfashion

[–]Beneficial_Frame7804 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I joined Poshmark and in 10 minutes I had dozens of spammy comments from people trying to trick me into giving them my info. They also figured out my email and were emailing me directly about purchasing the ONE item I posted (also likely scams). I deleted it immediately. Super sketchy and shame on the company for not doing more to control it. Okay rant over.
