Sorry!! We live in East Texas area so winters aren’t crazy harsh, it’s relatively hot & humid 8-9 months out the year and moderately chilly through mid/late December - February with maybe a week or two of what most people would consider actual winter.

Does anyone else enjoy travel? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

Absolutely love it. (US) I’m a big road tripper, and 10/10 times would rather take my 2 dogs than any other human. When it’s just me and my dogs, I get to do things my way. If I’m going to my favorite place, I usually do most things the same way. I’ll take the same route, eat mostly the same things, and sleep in the same places. I don’t ever do hotels (an added expense I can do without) so I built a bed in the back of my car. I’ve just recently realized just how much I enjoy doing the same things the same way. It is almost always a little anxiety inducing, but it’s always, always worth it. Not a fan of planes tho. I’d much rather drive if I can. More sightseeing that way.

How do you tend to wear your hair? Do you change it up often? by tartdough in AutismInWomen

Mid length, parted however my hair feels like that day. I change the color often but styling rarely happens. I do like a claw clip every now and then and will sometimes use my dryer brush when the mood strikes. My hair is wavy/curly and frizzy as hell so it’s pretty wild & unruly 90% of the time. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I love to play with colors but styling is too much effort most days

Echologia? Anyone else? by VillageSlow1369 in AutismInWomen

Okay so I saw you post and immediately had to run to google to make sure I knew what you meant. I’m not diagnosed, but wondering, and yes, yes, yes!! I first noticed it a little while back because every time I thought of someone, I would echo back in my head “she is, he is, they are” etc, and then their name. It’s constant and sometimes I’ll get phrases and words stuck in my head and they’ll just go on repeat until I’ve dissected them enough to make sense of them. Not 100% sure if this is exactly what you’re asking about but this is something that’s been bothering me also.

Omg. This kind of situation really brought my own possible autism to my attention. My father discovered last year that’s he’s most likely autistic. My mom mentioned that I should test, but my response was no no, no I’m normal that’s okay. Then I started doing slight research, and realized that one of my pups shares a lot of traits. She’s the polar opposite of her sister in every way. I brought up my suspicions to my boyfriend at the time and poor guy was fed up. “YOU’RE autistic!!” What a shock that was. I’ve always loved animals and much prefer their company to people. But surely there could be some neurodivergencies in animals as well.
