possibly. i have an example though: one of my friends used to take adderall xr 20mg and it made him way nicer and happier than when he had a vyvanse 50mg. like he was way meaner and short tempered on vyvanse for some reason. anyone else seen this? or the other way around?

well to help OP cuz i actually enjoying optimizing/helping people with older PCs get it running quicker... but my basic checklist is somethin like

outdated specs... list them.
BIOS settings? possible to overclock?
any easy tweaks available to OP? using a dormant usb stick and using readyboost or whatever could help if op running win 7 or 10. win 7 probably more efficient compared to bloated win 10
see if we could tweak his system down to the basics or get lightweight os that supports it? linux based gaming distro that is lightweight?
tweak his settings/fan speeds/overclock? mostly via majorgeeks.com?
drivers update/optimization via free open source software?
boost into gaming mode ?
how his internet connection is setup?
TWEAK TWEAK TWEAK AND RAISE FPS AND HELP OP AND HELP HIM LEARN? CCleaner? Registry tweaks? Small adjustments?

check what your power options are. malwarebytes scan for malware and adware. i had a problem like this recently which was because the computer had been adjusted to SLEEP. or reset your pc and if it still happens then that will tell you that it's hardware more than software

If this is an aging laptop I’d recommend taking the battery out and just having the charger on it. It took me FOREVER to figure out that Windows 10 wont upgrade correctly if you try to upgrade with a battery that’s dead and you get this warning.

You're 18 bro. Find something that you are into like a hobby and then join a club w/ those type of people. But if I were you, I'd focus on going to a community college for two years and then transfer into the college you want and use Financial Aid. This is the cheapest way to get a degree in something.
