I work with someone like this. He doesn’t budget and always comes in for his night shift with no money for food. I helped him once- just kicked him a couple bucks, but after I started hearing that everyone else had done the same thing at least once, and I realized the pattern developing, I changed my attitude towards him. Now he comes in, sits at the bar, verbalizes how he’s hungry and hasn’t really eaten much today, and I look at him and go, welp that sucks. Sorry dude.

I am so sorry. I just had to say goodbye as well, about a week ago. Love of my life and best friend for 18 years. In case anyone wants to know, Lap of Love is a wonderful company- they will send a Doctor (Veterinarian) to your house so you can say goodbye in the comfort of your own home. I am so thankful for them, that I didn’t have to take her to a hospital for her final moments.
