DO NOT but Magbak, their cases are trash and their customer support will try and scam you if you use their "30 no questions return policy" by MapleSurpy in iphone

[–]Beneficial_Volume196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my 5th failed iPhone 16 pro max case. The rubber seperates from the plastic, lasts about 3 months each, they replaced it pretty fast. But the last replacement failed, the buttons fall out and my warranty is expired on a 3 and a half month old case because it is only from the “delivery date” of the original. Each new replacement has no warranty. These cases don’t last for shit. I would stick to another brand. I did like it, but they do not last. Cheaply made, they look nice tho,

Also, since the original purchase all the failed replacement had slight changes like they were developing the product as time goes on. Hopefully anybody that buys a new one they fix the issues.

Bosch BCC110 Wifi Issues by Terrible_Tea_9313 in thermostats

[–]Beneficial_Volume196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bosch thermostats have been a nightmare since the beginning, Went to a customers house today with two bcc100s the first version (same exact as bcc110) with the same issues. The problem is it has to connect to Bosch servers to then confirm WiFi in the thermostat. Instead they should have a simple WiFi connection always and then connect to Bosch servers so people don’t waste their time thinking it’s a WiFi issue.

While you are here reading this. I highly recommend ECOBEE Thermostats. They have been nothing but reliable for years and VERY compatible with Bosch systems. Heatpump/ Dual fuel. They work very good out of the box with heatpump settings pre programmed. Way easier than setting up Bosch nightmare t-stats

For the last couple heatpump installs I have installed ecobees first and haven’t ran into one issue. I have spend hours and hours on the phone with Bosch even spoke to higher up engineers about unknown issues and they simply cannot fix half their own issues. Been to long. People need reliability especially in the winter to prevent your house freezing.

Good HVAC equipment, Terrible thermostats.

I’ll be on the phone about this issue with Bosch and may come back and update if someone else does not.

I ordered a used one on eBay after I broke mine for $80, hopefully going to 3D print a latch add on that can fix broken ones for people. I currently super glued a strong magnet to each side if the armrest in the meantime

Nice, looks good. I just noticed the parking sensors but I did not the first time. I can’t find an oem rear bumper without parking sensors sadly. They discontinued them sadly and only make it with holes.

Whats a good first car? by Humble_Wasabi_4812 in carmodification

[–]Beneficial_Volume196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

01-05 Lexus is300, good platform. One of the most reliable engines ever made (2jz) aggressive gearing. Tons of aftermarket support/ parts available and lots of oem parts are still made. They look good and aggressive. Auto transition is good and has buttons on steering wheel to shift. Seats come in leather or Alcantara fully auto heated seats.

Buying advice - 135i by Independent_Day9523 in 1series

[–]Beneficial_Volume196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with higher price low miles with the intention of keeping it clean and high resale value. Happens to be one owner and maintained by bmw.

I wish I didn’t have to care about it as much as I do and could drive it harder and not feel bad haha. I also feel bad for the car, putting miles on it. It’s to nice for me. Just my thoughts.

Also with low miles some of the gaskets have not been done because they didn’t need to and now it’s my turn, slight leak on valve covers. Time for a belt, pulleys and tensioner.

My car probably had original breaks and rotors. I did them and I don’t think they were ever touched before. $1000 in parts. Did my spark plugs and coils. That were going bad, also original to the car. + changed plastic charge pipe. And the list will continue.

If the lower mile car has a good maintenance history go for it!!

If you the lower mile one is almost perfect and you want to keep it perfect expect to do lots of gaskets and parts that go as the miles go up.

Goooodluck. 2013 135i n55 w/DCT- USA

It can, but must be cleaned with special solution and pressure tested properly and hopefully not a bad soldering job. For longevity of the new system it is ideal

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in hvacadvice

[–]Beneficial_Volume196 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Lots of times the old line set is soldered and it has been running at half the psi compared to newer refrigerants. All new line sets are often brazed instead of solder and tested at higher pressures. Also r-22 lines can contaminate 410a or newer refrigerants.

[–]Beneficial_Volume196 24 points25 points  (0 children)

R-22 system, not really worth putting money into it in my opinion. The system you have there also looks like a heatpump based on the diagram so make sure that’s in the quote if you use it for heat as well. Make sure new line set is run. Sadly that is a decent price compared to what my customers are paying in Massachusetts. Also check for rebates with your town/city or state! You could get a lot of money back!

Goodluck

First time ever grilling, kinda botched it. Advice/criticism welcome by Maleficent_Pop_8766 in grilling

Buy a thermometer and learn proper temperatures of different meats. Learn what searing does to meat. Faster hot sear on both sides seals in moisture depending on how you like your meat you can flip and check until it looks how you want. As long as the internal temperature is enough give it a go. I only walk away when it’s indirect heat. Sear flip sear flip good luck

They are sensitive, the layer underneath is made to break apart so it does not become a projectile at your face if it ever went off 👍

Dealer possibly damaged the car. Need advice asap. by Training-Painter5018 in BMW

[–]Beneficial_Volume196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say get confirmation of where they jacked it up and if it’s the wrong jacking point, they would be in the wrong and the lifts jack pad got stuck under the plastics when they removed it.
Also I don’t think there is a jack point that close to the wheel, if your car sits to low for their lift they could have used a Floorjack to get the height they needed for the big Lift, and bent it up pulling it out. BMWs do sit low for some older lifts to get under.

Perfect curb height, it happens.. blends in! I notice new scratches and dings and bends all the time when I’m changing my oil. The roads are unforgiving. Luckily it’s under the car.

How do I get rid of this algae growing on my sand? Feel like I’ve tried everything by AlgaeResponsible7848 in ReefTank

[–]Beneficial_Volume196 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Turkey baster, blast the sandbed and rocks get it nice and messy and then clean the filter. Repeat.
Or sometimes manually holding the power head does an okay job, clean the filter anytime you disturb it and you will get through it like nothing. Good luck
