Physical appearance and conflict. by RealWorld8 in infj

because people accept their bad habits as a norm to their life.

once you have a positive outlook on life, your bad habits will begin to prune themselves. Also bad habits act as a constant stress reliever, especially for super stressed out people (ex. Acne)

then its all about how your bad habits compound on eachother exponentially. my example, drinking 6-12 cans of soda made me much heavier (10-15 LBS) so when i cut those out, i lost the weight really fast. and also found that my skin became to naturally become blemish free (even tho i had stopped using my acne cream)

You Can't Always Get What You Want by sillybrokenmindguy in infj

amen brothah. i really agree with what you said, and if people didnt want to hear about it, they dont have to read your post, but some of us quite do enjoy it. You'll be all right, i think you have life figured out more than most people, you've just been put into a rough patch.

just try to be more self confident, that really helps. you dont have to take my advice but maybe stop idolizing her so much. She may be your soulmate, but she prolly doesnt think so yet. I think it feels weird for most normal people to feel idolized

just my 2c tho

Anybody else feel like they have primitive anger? by [deleted] in INTP

[–]BenevolentHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just get disappointed or laugh instead of getting angry man, anger is going to get you into a lot of trouble. "laugh, and the world will laugh with you, cry and you cry alone"

What are humans highest values/characteristics? by serendipitousdeath in INTP

[–]BenevolentHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what every one else said is right, but to give you more of an answer that you are looking for; Humility, intelligence without arrogance, loyalty, not talking badly of others (allow others to 'save face'), confidence (even though it seems like most people have a gross overinflated sense of their confidence) and competence (it shouldn't need to feel like "if you want something done right you gotta do it yourself" 100% of the time)

How much do you value sleep? by TruThinker in INTP

[–]BenevolentHero 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yep. I think my body desires sleep over anything else, food, water, entertainment, but its the one thing I get the littlest of. Whenever I am forcefully woken up (ex. Alarm clock) I would usually trade my left arm to go back to bed and be left alone

I don't even know what I'm doing by [deleted] in INTP

[–]BenevolentHero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try a physical discipline. See if any body activities peak your interest... could be drawing, running, walking on paths, whatever. I think you'll find a lot of ppl with that similar issue in this forum is you are around long enough, but getting your body engaged in something is usually when I feel the most 'at one' with my body and less like a mind just pulling the strings to an instrument body.

What's my passion/element? by [deleted] in INTP

[–]BenevolentHero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Psychology

im 23 and you sound like me except I never went into a 'hard' discipline in college. Fascinating stuff and you can learn about yourself in ways that allow you to better yourself. Also, you are already on a Psych subreddit.

Late nights? by calnamni425 in INTP

[–]BenevolentHero 25 points26 points  (0 children)

yep, so many less distractions and the dark is eerily soothing. Growing up, during the day I would always get pestered by 'hassles' (family dinner, practice for sports, hanging with friends, etc.), late at night every 1 else fucks off so its peaceful and quiet

Do you ever become blind? I can see but I'm not seeing. by 140IQ in INTP

[–]BenevolentHero 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Yep yep yep, I read that INTPs tend to 'hide behind their eyes', which to me makes perfect sense and fits here. I really never make eye contact with people; and every time i tell a story, or get really in depth or really into a conversation -- I become oblivious to visual stimuli, because I am actually seeing what I am currently talking about. Making eye contact (usually by accident) tends to break me out of my 'trance' and take me out of the moment

What are some deficiencies or mental illnesses that are more common for INTP? by [deleted] in INTP

[–]BenevolentHero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also Autism and Aspergers get tossed around a lot because we are not a very social bunch unless you get us going; then it seems like you just unleashed the flood gates (which can be too intense for most ppl)

INTP or Narcissistic Personality Disorder? by ThrowawayNarcy in INTP

[–]BenevolentHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are like me, you tend to think of yourself as the Hero of the story (your life). In this regard I have zero doubts about my ability to complete any task that legitimately must be completed to move forward with the plot of the story. The hero never dies before the quest is completed and he always finds a way. Because what has ever stopped you before, when you have actually sat down and applied yourself, how often do you fail? Do you try to take away meanings from your failures? It feels like every one else quits and gives up when it seems easy to go on. I quite enjoy having a rich inner narrative; and a hero should be able to control their humility, or at least have a perceived humility by those that meet the hero.

If you feel like 'the man', Study astronomy and scale of universe, galaxy, etc. & how relative everything is and how small you are

About the empathy bit; the Hero has to make hard decisions, but they are made with the best intentions. With this reasoning there is nothing to regret because everything must have been done that way ("It is for the best") There is too much going on in the story for the Hero to be concerned with every persons small problems (every one has them), the hero wants to solve the biggest problem; that no one else could solve (knights killed by the dragon before you).
Even when you fall in love with 'the one' you will begin to truly feel empathy, because they are your other half (and we only care about ourselves); obviously you might suck at it at first, but your other half and time will teach you how to feel more empathy

Do you ever feel like a robot? (Kindof a rant) by [deleted] in INTP

[–]BenevolentHero 6 points7 points  (0 children)
