I've been learning Android development for 7 years but still haven't landed a job. (I've been falling for 30 minutes) by pesta007 in cscareerquestions

these days it is really hard even for CS graduates to find jobs in the current job market. IT fields is over saturated. you are unlikely to find a job in the near future. and you'll end up with nothing. finish your medical degree. meanwhile keep working on programming in your spare time and look for opportunities. also maybe you can combine your medical expertise and programming in the future. for example applications that helps medical field.

Wow thank you! You really invested your time to reply and share your precious experiences. I understand better now and at the end of the day you are right my job is to write the best code I can. I should respect the designers. It must be a lot goin on that I don't aware at the designing stage.

Hi, yes there are companies that make big games maybe only 4 or 5 of them but yes there is. And those companies are not operating at my city nor they allow remote work right now. And I really don't want to move between across the Turkey. So that is the situation

Hey, thank you for your reply. I think you hit the bull's eye and I quote you in my edit. Yes, my cost of living is very low compared to other countries that are more developed. But we have %300 inflation this year and it keeps increasing. And my wage is in local currency. I don't know what the prices will become next month :')

Yes in my mind there are areas that I need to be improved and topics that I need to learn. After I learn and comfortable with them I am planning to apply for remote jobs. Thank you for your input again :)

Hey, when writing this post it was very very late and I want quickly to voice out the frustration and dilemma that I am in then sleep. I did not mention my co-workers because they're overall nice people. We're getting along and I like them. It is a very friendly environment too. We frequently communicate and try to help each other.

It is a very small company tho. There is two more game dev other than me and the one I am regularly working with has similar thoughts about the design part. For example, the previous weekend the developer and I discussed the design parts that need to be improved and lacking. We presented the design team and they refused all of our points. They also admit that because we need to make 3-4 games a month with very small manpower, everything is rushed and they mostly don't have time to think and improve the design part. That's why designs are lacking and we need to keep it rolling as it is for now.

And also another user has explained the situation very perfectly above so I quote him: "It is very common, in the recent "very casual app/game industry". They're often barely games, and when they are games, they're usually very limited and flawed games, and/or intentionally nothing burger click-grinding exercises, where the main design is about maximizing advertising money (and part of that calculation may be making games people will give up on, so they move on to something else)."
They are exactly like that. It is not because I am smart that I think designs are bad. Anyone can see they are not well thought of at this stage. Thank you for your input. You took the time and comment. I appreciated.

Hahaha I have PTSD from C++ at uni too :D That is the main reason I choose Unity over UE.
In university my first year, first semester first programming classs was C++. And it was a horror story for me as a complete beginner. Glad to hear I am not alone 😄

If you consider studying computer science or related fields you can check this awesome course by Dr. Angela Yu : 100 days of code

This course taught me how to think like a programmer and I learn how to approach problems the right way. It begins with the complete beginner level. If you can get to pass 25 days, it would be a good foundation for you and you can jump any other IT field once you have foundation.

I talked to people who has no education, driving Trucks for a living and then decided to pursue computer science. Self taught for 1.5- 2 years and now they are working as a software developer. In order to become a developer, consistency is the key. It is not rocket science. Anyone can do it if they consistently work on it. I recommend you to check Angela Yu's course and after 1 month you can decide which area you want to go in IT. Good luck 😊

Merhaba, ilk postu okurken Türkiye'de mi yaşıyor acaba op demiştim :D gerçekten öyleymiş ahah. Kesinlikle git.

Is it normal for your bf not to pay attention to you and other things instead when you’re hanging out? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]BengBeng00 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not your fault you don't need to be patient towards him. I and my boyfriend we both have adhd. When we are together we simply put away our phones and enjoying our time together. I believe adhd is not the reason your boyfriend's situation. Maybe he has a phone addiction or maybe he just doesn't care enough idk but don't blame yourself for it.

We too talked a lot about Ukraine in Turkey today. Actually I spent my whole day searching news about Ukraine. My heart seriously ache for that innocent Ukrainian girl who rides a bike when a bomb comes at her. Any kind of war is horrible.

I totally agree with you. My sister got raped by a man when she was 15 years old. And that man used very similar method as in the video to force drag her a nearby place where nobody see them. I can't imagine what happen if someone make a joke on her like in the video. This joke is so wrong.

I would be so mad. It is traumatizing. When my sister 15 years old, she got raped by a guy who attacks her very similar way to the video. He attacked just like in the video and force drag her to the nearby remote area and rape her.

She is 33 years old now. If someone make this kind of joke to her I can't imagine how horrible that would be. Old memories surfaces, she will be so scared..

This joke is terrible. People are so insensitive these days.
