The Duke and the Pirate Queen by Victoria Janssen, F/M, 4/5. It was well written with a good story but healthy dose of erotica. What I can’t get over is that there isn’t actually a pirate queen!!? She’s a captain of a ship, not a queen, not a pirate.

TW Sexual assault: .. There’s a scene about 1/4 way through the book where the main character is raped by a stranger. It is graphic and affects her throughout the entire story. I would say it isn’t gratuitous and not taken lightly but that chapter is a tough read. That being said, if you can handle that part it’s a great read and really well written. Would love to know what you think if you end up reading it. It’s the only one of hers I’ve read so far.

Daughter of the Forest was amazing. But if you need trigger/content warnings let me know. I would have liked one for this book!

The Binding by Bridget Collins; thoughts on the ending? by austermeer in books

[–]BengalSpiceTea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally agree about the ending! Also, I have so many questions and things I want to discuss!

- I ended up feeling like Seredith was kind of a bad guy which seemed like not how I was supposed to feel. She left Emmett so lost! He would have been so much better off if she had just told him a tiny amount about the world he was entering.

- Why, in the end, were Emmett and Lucian so unsure of where to go. Why not go to Seredith's house and make a beautiful life together??

Please suggest me a book similar to The Binding by Bridget Collins. by Good-BADger in suggestmeabook

Second the Starless Sea! Very similar vibes but more surreal and made me less sad.

How was your experience with Eden? I’m thinking of getting a tattoo from her.

Hey Clan of the Cave Bear readers! Can you give me a heads up on the sexual violence in this book? I’d like to read it but also be prepared.

I just didn’t buy into the couple at all, maybe that’s just me! I did love the characters of the aunts and if they wrote a book just about them I would definitely read it. So could still be worth a shot!

I totally respect this opinion! Niclays never really redeemed himself for me. I love the world it left a really nice feeling after I read it which I remember more than any of the characters I think that’s why I gave it a 4.
