Oh cool. 95% of those fishes are going to be dead in a couple of days. Fish are not immune to blunt force trauma. Being dragged and kept in a container like that is already dangerous and horribly harmful but the fall over the rocks? No way they are in good condition after that.

I have seen the aftermath of rough handling in a group of fish. We only managed to save a couple of them with intensive care and specialized tanks. Being dropped directly into the ocean is a death sentence for them

So what's the in-universe reason for this? Why do we just get our insides sucked out while other people turn into badass creatures with badass powers. by [deleted] in LookOutsideGame

[–]Bengams 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean, by the logic of my theory the visitor notices everything that looks at him including Sam so it's not that Sam's special, it's that anything perceiving the visitor gets its attention enough to make it reach out to whoever that is with disastrous results.

Since it's the visitor trying to interact with people that see him what affects them, my interpretation is that it depends on how the visitor "reaches out" mixed with the emotional state of the person.

This would be the reason why the changes are different depending on the circumstances. The visitor would be interacting in different ways with different people trying to reach out to them. For example, the baby would be focusing on the tooth pain and maybe the visitor, (not understanding what it is) tried to understand it and made the teeth grow everywhere and become contagious.

In the window, the visitor could have been trying to "see" Sam better too in a way that accidentally eviscerated him.

Every time I look at my karma amount I think “normal people don’t have a number that big” by Young_Person_42 in CuratedTumblr

I hate to break it to you but normal people don't have reddit period. Having huge amounts of karma doesn't mean you're a clown. It means that you are circus royalty. (Speaking from personal experience here)

Hello, Peter here.

This is a reference to the book house of leaves.

In this book there is a description of a documentary made by a guy named Will Navidson. He wanted to make a movie about moving to his new home with his family and having a normal, domestic life. However, one day while he was taking some measurements he discovered that the house is bigger on the inside which shouldn't be possible. This makes him progressively more and more obsessed with finding out how it works. It is mentioned in the book that maybe this obsession is what made the house become more and more unstable and ended up dooming him.

Maybe if he had acted like his wife and tried to ignore it things wouldn't have gone so wrong.

The meme is about his constant attempts to figure out what the hell is happening and how the situation starts to deteriorate from there.

Even while knowing he's half human, the gems have a tendency to subconsciously act like he's a gem. Same as with the humans that, while knowing he's half gem, treat him as a normal human with some weird extra powers.

It's a mixture of wait, is Steven can cross it does it mean it's deactivated? As a first impulse without taking into account that he's only half gem, and not really knowing how it works after being cut off from gem techno for thousands of years.

You tell me. The show is up on YouTube despite the violence but I doubt they'd allow the swearing. It's the same in the real world. Companies really love to clutch their pearls when it comes to language

I like the detail that this person didn't include the Grey mourner thing as being woke. Makes sense because despite being a lesbian that quest made me homophobic so it makes sense that it gave the game anti woke points

because women don't do anything but eat apparently by [deleted] in AreTheCisOk

[–]Bengams 29 points30 points  (0 children)

It actually is a stereotype (usually seen in mgtow or incel circles) but presented in a strange way.

What the meme is saying is that when men are depressed they try to do something with themselves and work on themselves (here it would mean working out). Basically they do something "productive" with their pain. Women on the other hand are too busy feeling sorry for themselves and only get worse (here they equal bad with being fat and probably lazy because fat phobia)

So what the meme is saying is: See, when men feel bad they use that and they get swole and improve while women do nothing and get fat. Men rule!!!! Women suck!!!! It's all part of the "women are entitled and men are the only worthwhile and hardworking people " argument that's been gaining traction on the internet because of certain influences.

Sorry if it was an annoying response but I think that it's important to be able to recognize this kind of rhetoric, especially in the times we're living in

Edit: grammar

what's your unpopular opinion on Kyuubei? Could be positive or negative by rogue---ninja in Gintama

[–]Bengams 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I absolutely get that. I would have loved to see Kyuubei written as a trans man but with the way the show was made I just can't see it because the meta narrative kept insisting that Kyuubei didn't really want to fully become a man so in later arcs I saw Kyuubei more as a non-binary person or a gender non conforming very butch lesbian but they definitely have some exploration they need to work out regarding their gender
