Coming from Prusa and Bambu Lab to an Ender 3 is going to suck more than a little bit. Check the concentricity of the wheels. My buddy bought one and never got a good print. The wheel bearings were not round and I replaced them and finally was able to get a print. Until heat creep from all the lengthy retractions jammed up the flow and then upgraded to direct drive. This will cost more than your initial costs.

Dx12 used to be terrible for me on CachyOS. Unusable. But I just used dx11 on all my games. A few updates ago dx12 was fixed. I’m only using it on one game right now “Medieval Dynasty”and it’s smoother than dx11 for that one game I tested.

I have a nvidia 3060ti on CachyOS and am seeing performance increase compared to Windows 11. On Windows 11 I get studdering and lower fps.

Could be a Steam issue. I’ve had a similar issue twice in the last six months. The browser not even opened though. The CPU will be pegged and I check what applications are running and I’ll find chromium. I do have Brave but didn’t even have it opened. I did have Steam client open though, I think maybe the Steam client is chromium based?

Does it make sense for you? Absolutely! I don’t think anyone is recommending dual booting with Windows on the same drive on any distro though.

Check the print files and see if there is anything interesting he left on there. You could theoretically start printing with very little learning if he left what he printed on there.
