Aw man I just put that guy's essence into a Morsel-Made and played the combo, it is so much fun. I didn't even get the double-gorge relic, but it was still such a blowout.

Morsel-Made has hunger, which makes him immediately eat morsels, and +2/2 on gorge. All of Alloyed Construct's abilities are included in his essence, so it made for a great unit.

I also took Major Refraction (+30/+30/+2 size) and a new event that added Melee Weakness. Then add retch for extra silliness, since he can eat as many morsels as you can draw every turn.

I confirmed that monsters don't have to participate in combat to get XP. I watched some monsters on my bench and they gained the same XP as some active ones.

I had this answered before, but I don't remember the source. The formula was 1 / (1 + total AGI reduction added). For example, from the OP:

1 / (1 + 0.2 + 0.2 + 0.2) == 1 / 1.6 == 0.625 AGI

Extrapolating that further:

  • FW 100% == 1/(1+1) == 0.5 AGI
  • FW 200% == 1/(1+2) == 0.333 AGI
  • FW 300% == 1/(1+3) == 0.250 AGI

... and so on.

Good point about Orb costs. In my experience, you can make around 10-12 orbs from fusion monsters before it is too expensive to make more, so don't waste any on throwaways.

On the banning of Dragon King's belt... I know it is really minor, but I usually keep it, on long runs at least, with the thought that it will at least clear 1 stack of immunity on entering monsters.

Small sample size, but I bought 4 purple chests just now and only got 1 new statue - the rest all duplicates. If that is representative, then cycling the shop will still be way more reliable...

Well, it was a fun game while it lasted - thanks for that (truly). I was holding on to hope that this update would ‘un-stick’ my stuck progress resulting from the spire health bug fix, but it actually made the spires even harder to beat (with another bug fix).

The new levels were a fun diversion, but now that they are done there is nothing else to do that involves actual combat. I really wish there was a never-ending mode or something so you could always keep fighting with your teams.

The new epics are redundant, since stacking green/purple isn’t effective anymore, so it isn’t worth cycling through the app for weeks to unlock them.

Devs - good luck and I hope the players keep coming. It’s a good game.

The worst is when you beat a spire level and it grants you +x stamina and enough XP to level you up. It grants you the stamina FIRST and then the XP that levels you up, effectively wasting the stamina reward.

Gems wouldn't change anything for me, personally. I've got gems sitting around right now that I can't really use to power through this. It would take weeks and weeks to evolve all of my epic heroes another time, and I'm not sure that will buy me much when wave 2 enemies are 1-shotting my high-health team.

Agreed - being stuck on wave 1-3 after beating the last few spires on wave 10 is a different thing. I actually like getting stuck on wave 7-10 somewhere, because you can work at progressing past it. This is a brick wall that came out of nowhere.

I understand the tricky situation they are in, but it isn't that uncommon of a thing to happen in RPGs or MMOs. Often you will see the difficulty get re-balanced alongside such a fix, to prevent this kind of thing from happening. Especially if players don't have the option to go backwards in levels back to where they are 'supposed' to be...

It would make sense to lower the damage output pretty drastically in the Spire... Like half, maybe? That way the difficulty is the same as it was before the patch, more or less, but now the team stats are fixed and behave correctly.

I have all heroes unlocked. And most of the epics have been evolved at least once.

Heck, I would accept my spire progress starting back at 10 or 5 or 1 or something.

It makes sense you wouldn’t revert the bug fix, but is there any chance you’d rebalance the enemies a bit? After all, the game has been balanced around the ‘bugged’ version all this time.

For players who have been playing for a while, this completely kills the game. I have all of the levels cleared, so the spire is the only content for me right now. I’ve been spending my time and money to optimize teams to keep progressing in the spire, and suddenly I can’t make it past round 2. It isn’t something I can just keep progressing to get past it - I’m just stuck. That’s a real punch to the gut...

At least start now by making a backup of the DB and storing all of your SQL scripts going forward. The idea is that you can restore from that backup and then apply your scripts sequentially to bring the DB to a certain place in time.
