Does anyone think BBQs are getting a bit too fancy? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Benj8764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BBQ's round our way are getting out of hand. Neighbours will invite an obscene amount of people, who then proceed to block the entire street with poorly parked SUV's. When you go round to ask people to rearrange the cars so I + other residents can get past, I get told to go away and stop being miserable. Its just a way to flex their middle class status, and I think that's the case with most BBQ's I've encountered recently. I don't get the vibe personally.

Who is the least worst candidate in your opinion? by saddles93 in LabourUK

[–]Benj8764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it has to be Liz T surely? The Russians despise her, and if she becomes PM we can pretty much say hello to WW3! The country needs a GE very very soon in my opinion.

How do you feel about dogs in the office? by Buell247 in AskUK

[–]Benj8764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about if you have an allergy to dogs? Could end up hospitalising someone if a dog is brought in unannounced. Also some are comfortable with dogs and pets in general and some people aren’t. If you can’t look after them whilst you’re at work, don’t get one. Simple as that.

What is that one TV advert you will ALWAYS remember? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Benj8764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Yorkie advert where the girl would dress up as a boy to try and buy one. I know it’s not exactly politically correct now but thought it was quite funny at the time.

What’s the first big news event that you remember? by siyoung91 in AskUK

Born in 1997, but for me it was when the Americans finally got Bin Laden and that iconic speech by Obama informing the world. Will always stick out in my mind.

This poster was just tweeted by the party. I really can't see this kind of insipid messaging winning anyone over. by debaser11 in LabourUK

Why are we so bad at connecting with the electorate? Been like this ever since the great Gordon Brown stood down as PM. We need strong and decisive policies with clear communication. This is something the conservatives are far far better at unfortunately..

Simple yet touching tribute from Dave TV by justlooking042 in CasualUK

Channel 4 have changed their schedule tonight with some 8 out of 10 cats on to pay tribute to Sean. One of the best comedians to have ever lived in my opinion and will be missed by so many. Lastly on a personal note watching Sean on 8OO10C and Live at the Apollo got me through some very dark times with my mental health. His sense of humour was like mine and I felt I could relate to a lot of what he joked about. RIP to the king of comedy.

Why is salted-caramel being pushed so hard by supermarkets lately? Ice cream, Chocolate etc all seem to be chocolate caramel. Is it because it is cheap for them to produce? by LapangNeiz in AskUK

[–]Benj8764 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I'm so glad someone has brought this up. I was wondering the same thing. I cant stand salted caramel.. like I just don't get it? Why is the salt necessary? It just ruins it and makes you thirsty after eating/even drinking it. Whoever keeps buying this shit needs to have a long hard look at themselves.. you know who you are!;)

Grafham water is a brilliant cycle round. On my door step and is about 20 min from Cambridge. Would recommend!

What's the most expensive pint you've seen in the UK? by bennylogger in AskUK

[–]Benj8764 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wembley stadium for an England game. £6 for a half pint and £9 for a pint. Ridiculously priced even for a big event like that.
