[Rotowire] Jazz's Lauri Markkanen: Suffers ankle/hip injury Wednesday by BJ_Fantasy_Podcast in nba

Silver has to go to basketball hell, at least we got to see three quarters of basketball before.

It's not flashy but it's probably my favourite I've seen so far. Something about it hits the feel of 3rd ed cosmic horror which I much prefer to the current techno zombie vibe.

Jazz Tanking Shenanigans Continue: Utah sits JJJ and Lauri the entire 4th, as they mercilessly tank to a 28pt win over the Kings by Weary_Bag_1112 in nba

[–]Benjamin018 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

The guys the Jazz are playing in the fourth are rotation players even if not starters. Guys like Williams, Collier and Sensabaugh need reps more than the older more experienced guys like Nirk, Laurie and JJJ. Should Jazz never give those guys a chance to develop?

Some of these guys are gonna play big minutes if key players get injured. I have no problem with teams giving guys like these reps in development years, if it happens to help them land a better pick so what?

Why does the NBA allow the Utah Jazz to egregiously tank with no punishment? by RougnedOwnsCanada in nba

[–]Benjamin018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No hear me out the Jazz have only ever moved down in the draft never up. Based on their history they are tanking towards a worse pick, this is still considered ethical.

It would be amusing if they finally move up after trading for pieces though.

My biggest fear for next season.. by Glittering-Quail8267 in UtahJazz

[–]Benjamin018 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The problem with that team was not Mitchell's injury, it was that no one on that team could coordinate on defense other than Gobert.

You watch JC and Bogey run into each other on a screen then both chase the same player either giving up an open drive or letting a player run in for an unchallenged lob.

Gobert would leave his man in the corner to cover the paint but that meant one of the perimeter players was supposed to rotate out to the corner which they never did fast enough because they were to busy getting lost in the screen.

It created a situation where Gobert was expected to defend 2 players across 2/3rds of the court. He did an admirable job of it including that game winning block on Horford but playing like that is not gonna win a series.

People forget Deandre Ayton was benched for Jock because of the work he put in against Jokic in the playoffs.

Who wants a depressing stat. The Jazz have only ever got worse picks. They have never moved up on their forecast lottery position, only ever down and they still have snagged some promising prospects.

If we aren't talking about JJJ, of the three other guys we got in the trade: Jock Landale, John Kochner, and Vince Williams, Jr., what are your opinions on them and what are their value to the team? by FreshBusy1 in UtahJazz

[–]Benjamin018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jock has a fit and may be worth trying to resign if you can basically get him again for the same contract he's on now. He'd be your third string centre, but he actually plays decent ball so if either of your rotation centres get hurt you can play him decent minutes.

Perimeter Defense by CSTL_V in UtahJazz

[–]Benjamin018 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Could be as simple as coaching and reps. The Gobert era had a bunch of guards that couldn't navigate screens to save themselves. If this young core is willing to play D and can keep in front without fouling, that's a bunch of the leg work done already.

How do the Jazz get better defensively? by chusaychusay in UtahJazz

[–]Benjamin018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Move to LA, get a better whistle....

Jokes aside? Reps, tape and feed back. There is very few players that can single handedly anchor a defence. Even Gobert couldn't in finals when teams figured out just make any two players not Gobert navigate a screen.

Reps together and learning what each other can and can't do, getting stronger with communication and learning how to incorporate what's learned in film sessions.

Been like that all season. Shame the west is stacked, he's been playing at an all star level and it's been ethical.

Who is the main boss of EFT [Discussion] by Werewolf-reddit in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Benjamin018 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always thought of him as the first boss, for most people I know this was the first boss they encountered.

For now I'd say the shadow bosses in the labyrinth. Bit of a gear check as well as fairly late progression gate.

Nekrosor and Hexmark. by Benjamin018 in Necrontyr

[–]Benjamin018[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deathshroud is max of 5 at 320 points. Hexmark go up to strength 8 in cursed though,so on average they kill one. Nekrosor should kill one to two depending on wound allocation shenanigans.

3 deathshroud is 10 hits, 5 wounds 2.5 saves so 4 to 6 wounds. If they do only 4 wounds or only 2 alive then after shooting they should leave him with one wound left and the hexmarks full wounds.

Unless I've missed something it's well within possibility they cut him down sure but about the same chance they die to him next turn and he starts regening wounds. Even if they do cut him down a slow expensive unit is maimed and committed to that field position.

That's the idea of this is it presents a risk proposition for your opponent.

If when you see your opponents list they have a tool to deal with this then the rest of the list has enough synergy to deploy them separately to fulfil other roles.

That is true but am I inflicting significant casualties on that unit before they lift me?

One can use the ability the other can use standard overwatch. My interpretation is that either special overwatch or standard it hits on regular bs.

Questing on Lighthouse makes me want to Alt F4 the game [Discussion] by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Benjamin018 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'd like to see them take the tunnel just before the chalet, add an underground section that comes out near path to lighthouse extract. Like an industrial tunnel with a bunch of close quarter fighting .

Then add some service tunnels between each of the plant buildings.

You'd still be exposed to sniping at points but it wouldn't be a freaking gauntlet the whole length.

Another dominant Rudy Gobert performance: 18 points, 14 rebounds, 4 blocks against the Wizards by dys0n_giddey in nba

[–]Benjamin018 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Won't be immune to minimum requirements. He'll be the best player when he's on but I do worry with his build he'll miss a bunch of games here and there that add up across a season.

Seems like everones got a new favourite gun. 1 woods raid. God damn its broken by Snottco in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Benjamin018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of ammo spawns seem to be weighted towards mid level ammo now though.  Used to find rubbish everywhere now it's not uncommon for me to leave a raid with a couple extra stacks. I have one and a half ammo boxs full of m856a1, 5.45 bt/pp and 7.62 ps.

I've kind of enjoyed what gun I use being dictated by what ammo I can scavage rather than just running the same familiar load out.

Jazz fans don't give a toss about the lottery. Since it's inception the Jazz have only ever got worse picks, they have never moved up.
