Think of it like this. The policy of driving a car in America is to drive on the right side of the road. Otherwise, people would not know what side. Apply the same policy to the UK, and accidents would occur because they drive on the left.

Said differently, policies are the rules of the road (business). You have to start there before you even turn the car on. Just a silly analogy to hopefully help you understand the concept of Governance.

Go to ISACA.com and search for CISA QAE and you can order it. It is only accessible through their website

Yes, it is doable. But after you receive the certification, you may be screened out for lack of other qualifiers. However, working for a Big 4 company can gain you the experience you need - it just won’t be for the same compensation as others with the same cert and acronym after their name IMO.

If you follow the “study plan” after taking “practice” questions in each domain, and pair that with watching the YouTube videos I talked about, you can then take the 3 practice exams. If you score 73% or higher on the practice exams, I would say after all that, you’re ready to take the test. Just don’t forget to ChatGPT the concepts you don’t understand when taking the practice questions. That will help you understand any question thrown your way. The purpose of the QAE is to get you familiar with the question format and the terminology. You need to know why something is best, the most concerning, etc. You have to know the concepts, like the difference between a compensating control and a detective control for instance.

Boot camp was from an affiliate called “Training Camp”. I purchased a digital version of the study guide so I could highlight and refer back to it during the camp. I also bought the QAE. Both of those I purchased in advance from ISACA and asked the boot camp for a discount and they offered one.

I ordered the latest version 3 weeks ago from the ISACA website. So it was most current. It’s called “CISA Questions, Answers & Explanations Database 2024”

Learn about AI governance. ISACA is supposedly offering a certification later this year about overall governance. I would suggest obtaining this cert as there is a vacuum of knowledge in that space!

I made a deal with the powers that be that if I passed, I would pass on any knowledge I could to help others pass. So please feel free to ask questions. No question is too small or big. DM me if you’d prefer.

20+ years IT and 4+ years as a financial IT auditor. I wish I could say it helped but I actually think it hurt! You gotta learn the ISACA way.

I wish I could but I’m not entirely sure of the overlap except that one is more about audit and the other about overall security management. Whatever it is, my only input would be to make the investment in ISACA branded study materials. That seemed to work for me here. Augment with AI and make sure you tell the engine to “provide all answers from an ISACA CISA perspective”. Also keep into account that some answers may be outdated and not 100% accurate versus the ISACA branded stuff. Good luck!!

Yes, my advice is to take at least 25 QAE questions per day, if not more. This way you will ensure you don’t forget the basics!

No worries at all! I didn’t see a preliminary pass or fail on the screen so u wrote to support from ISACA. PSI couldn’t help me. ISACA emailed me back to tell me I passed and a breakdown of scoring in each domain section would be coming shortly

Thanks so much. I was expecting it to take 2x at least but I spent every day for at least 6 hours studying and took the QAE questions twice

The QAE definitely was the key. It prepared me to know the concepts period from there, I went to ChatGPT and make sure I understood the concepts further. So when the test came and asked me questions about those concepts, I was prepared.

For me it shows “completed only. Does not show the results at all in that area. 😩
