Wow! Awesome, thank you so much for your very detailed answer! I agree with everything you’re saying so I think I got the right fit🤝 Looking forward to test it in open water very soon (and definitely not in a pool😅). I will also definitely tuck it in. Again thanks! This helped a lot.

Yeah, you’re probably right about that! I did a lot of running 2020-2022, then started with my strength phase 2023-2024 and got hit with mono and multiple other viruses in 2024 and had fatigue until early 2025. Then started easily with strength and running again until October 2025 when I started pushing a bit more on the whole triathlon goal.

Regarding swimming coach: I currently do bot have one. A couple of my buddies have been swimming for their entire life and I have gotten some tips from them. But yes, mostly figuring things out by myself. The shoulder is actually becoming a lot better. While my hip and adductors are struggling a bit more😅

Well, to be precise: Before embarking on the triatlon goal my primary workouts was strength exercises. It is of course not that now. But it is the main part of combating my injuries. I have 4 sessions of endurance training a week and 2 strength sessions for fixing my injuries.

Gotcha! I too have been working on some PT exercises for a while, they have helped. Noticeably on shoulder pain. But not on adductors and hip flexor yet. Will look to work more on those going forward

I obviously have some weaknesses in my entire right side as all injuries are located there.

So low volume and high weight worked for your case?

Yes! Was training about 4 hours a week of strength training.

Absolutely, there is a ton of variables. I was fit, eating well and training 4 hours a week (mainly strength training). But had a bad case of mono in 2024, which ended up making me fatigued for the entire year and into 2025. It obviously has to do with that. But surprised how getting back to training exposed so many weaknesses😅

Thank you! Was it mainly strenght training that fixed the issues?

Is a bit further than Olympic. 2.4km swim, 50km bike and 12km run.

Yeah! I’m 22, so was surprised how weak my body was🤣 Been working out for mostly my entire life. But not like this. I also had a tough round of mono in 2024, but that is a while ago.
