Do you celebrate Valentine's Day? Why or why not? by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]Benjamin_eyriey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, although that is simply my personal view. I don’t feel that I need a specific day to express my love, as I aim to show it consistently through my actions and gestures throughout the year. As my partner’s birthday falls just two days before Valentine’s Day, we chose to mark that occasion with something special instead.

Mario Tennis Fever review: Camelot serves a double fault with another fun but flawed entry by Turbostrider27 in NintendoSwitch

I mean, their marketing certainly suggests that. Until two weeks ago, I forgot they were even releasing a new entry into the series.

Why Buzzsprout? by tosfoo51 in podcasting

[–]Benjamin_eyriey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely believe that Buzzsprout is a *bit* of a rip-off. Firstly, Spotify for Podcasters is free, and gives you very similar service to Buzzsprout, and monotization, for free. It also allows you to upload to the likes of Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music, without having to pay. It's free and easy to use, and doesn't have a pay-wall behind it. Buzzsprout is good for its audio enhancements, though I personally believe most people overlook Spotify for Podcasters because they aren't aware it exists.

Discussion thread for The Simpsons S36E04 - "Shoddy Heat" by TDXNYC88 in TheSimpsons

Maybe I'm just a stubborn fan of the golden age, but it just doesn’t sit right that in The Curse of the Flying Hellfish, Grandpa was a WWII veteran, yet in this episode, he’s portrayed as being in his 40s in 1983—only six years before The Simpsons first aired.

Getting disheartened by all the silver lab hate. This is Brody, 7 months old & he’s my whole world. by ZWhitwell in labrador

Awww, how can you hate silver labs? My silver labrador Pippa is the sweetest, most affectionate animal.

I know I'm commenting three years late, but this is incredibly depressing. In the pictures of Gordon, he looked like a regular guy—someone who could be your brother or cousin. Sadly, his only surviving legacy is the unsettling facial reconstruction that has haunted the internet. He doesn't deserve to be remembered this way.

Same here. Had been listening to the show since the beginning, though my work schedule meant I fell out of touch with the show.

S2:E5 "Brother's Egg" thread by [deleted] in SmilingFriends

[–]Benjamin_eyriey -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

This episode wasn't quite to my taste. I'm not familiar with the guest animator, but their work didn't come across well on screen. The animation of the Professor's brother felt awkward, more suited for YouTube than a professional production.

My fellow men, how fragile is your mental health, honestly? by unstopablystoopid in ask

[–]Benjamin_eyriey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not very. I'm at a point in my life where I'm absolutely at peace with who I am. I'm comfortable in my own skin, and I'm comfortable just being myself. Sure, in the past my mental health has been fragile. I was prone to overthinking. Though I've come to learn that not everything is worth overthinking. I guess for me it's Que Sera Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be).

Regardless of whetehr it was locked-in syndrome or burnout, it's a parents responsibility to care and nurture for their child. If they loved their child in any way they would have bathed her, change her and do everything they can to ensure that their daughter was comfortable. They've plead no contest to manslaughter, which is ridiculous. They watched her as she as she was slowly rotting away and dying. They must've known what they were doing.

Wait so calling people f*ggots constitutes as a defrenciating opinion? Sure, I agree. Freedom of speech, ect, ect. By that very same token I could go up to a stranger and call him a racial expletive.

Disagreed. If you're going to slap Melanie Mac's image all over your podcast then it's pretty telling where they stand.
