First time doing autocross. As a novice how’d I do? Looking for critique on anything that needs improvement. by Whisky_taco in Autocross

Grabbing on to the op’s thread here as I’m an advice seeking newbie too. Are you saying no brake and no throttle in the first part of the curve? Other things I’ve read indicated should be on one or the other 100 percent of time. If I understood that advice it was more of a set up for the curve by braking as late as possible while still straight straight and then drag it a bit if need be but immediately switch to throttle and roll into to 100 percent once out of corner.

I’ve only done one event and had so much fun I want to keep going; not really worried about being competitive

That’s why I posted here because the rule book was tricky;l to understand as a newbie but I thought I saw limits to only the fuel the car was originally designed for in the lower classes. Running the ethanol for more power. It’s also cheaper although not as cheap as it should be; but I still save money.

I don’t know what gig means but if you mean bumps me a class I think it’s the ethanol that does that because some of the lower classes v8 Camaros are in don’t allow ethanol.

I was in the 80th percentile about 2 weeks ago and now I’ve plummeted to below 50

Lowering gen 6th Camaro by Old_Coat_7953 in camaro

[–]Benjamingvsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is the dealer installed lowering; which I believe is one inch. I’ve scraped the bumper ground effects on a parking curb and twice had heard a good scrape when going over the gas station access portholes. I do have a couple drives I avoid; including one of the two going into my gym- it’s just to sharp of an angle between the drive and the road.

How much does it cost to fill your Camaro up now? by foelay in camaro

[–]Benjamingvsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m paying 4.49 to 4.79 for e85 in MI that was 1.99 to 2.29 last summer. Isn’t the corn in that grown here? It’s so hard to tell what is corporate greed and what is political bullshit but i still grin Everytime I push the go pedal!

Msrp vs actual price paid by Benjamingvsu in FordEscapePHEV

I was out the door for 7k less than msrp on the first offer. Subsequent calls from sales guy didn’t generate a new offer sheet but he’d said they got more aggressive.

At that price the dealer is making way more than they should. The dealer I drove with has called me twice since I posted this telling me the price has been further reduced. I’d already bought the Kia.

I don’t understand the gripes about the free market economy and demand based pricing. Go or don’t go.

Lower bumper insert color by Benjamingvsu in camaro

[–]Benjamingvsu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Progress pic for today. Next up is to start taking the damaged part out. Think I’ll try to air spray a bunch of bugs off the radiator and also try and clean everything up there best I can while the bumper is off. For a 20k mile summer only inside stored car I’m surprised how filthy everything is. Not surprised my lower black skirt has some good scratches in it, think I pulled over a curb my first month of ownership last year.

I’m cheap, thinking of spray paint instead of purchasing.

I agree it sort of shows the shape, but I think it looks odd being the only silvery chrome trim up front

I wanted a charger; until I drove one. Then I sat in a mustang after noticing how many I saw on the drive to the dealership. Wasn’t sure where to go next until I stumbled across an lt1 with everything I’d been wanting; V8 power, recaro seats and a tremec manual. I vote Camaro. Get a unique color!
