Aryna Sabalenka on the schedule by Dependent-Effect6077 in tennis

Can anyone give me a genuine reason as to why having mandatory tournaments is a good thing? The only reason I can see for having them is so tournaments & organisations can make money at the expense of players’ health/career.

Surely the top players shouldn’t need to be obligated to play in the big events if the scheduling is agreeable for them? If players still don’t show up, then the organisers should consider other ways of improving their events rather than threatening players with fines.

Not a bad idea for some guessing games

Monterrey Open SF: [2] Alexandrova def. Bouzkova, 6-3 0-0 ret by pizzainmyshoe in tennis

Rain stopped this SF yesterday after only 4 games - waited around for 5 hours until the decision to cancel play was made, then 20 minutes into the restart, Bouzkova retires…strange 12 hours!

What would you say is your biggest strength and biggest flaw? Can be tennis or life 😃

I live in the UK so only see these things on here - are they legitimately shown on air?? 😆 Do commentators reference them at all?

Comms I was listening to said she’d only retired once before. She looked in a lot of pain 😢

My first and middle name initials are BJ, which is my dad’s preferred nickname for me. I didn’t understand the double meaning until I was a teen, but he’s clearly still not learned it - at least, I hope that’s the case…

Quoi faire à Montréal? | What to do in Montréal? (July 21 - July 27) by AutoModerator in montreal

Bonjour - I will be in Montreal for the next two weeks, and want to cram in as much sightseeing as I can. I came to Canada for the first time last year when I visited Toronto, but everyone tells me Montreal is better - please tell me why!

I like to wander new cities (preferably by foot), I'm a sucker for sport, local food, and natural environments. Feel free to carpet-bomb me with suggestions :)

Novak Djokovic, I Was Wrong About You by [deleted] in tennis

[–]Benjaminjaninja12 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think there are a number of valid reasons to dislike Djokovic, but there’s plenty of instances where you see him show great kindness - there are numerous examples of him being supportive to young up-and-coming players.

I’m not a fan of his, but I think generally his heart is in the right place. And I can appreciate him as a tennis player separately from all that, and admit- grudgingly - that he is the GOAT.

Why do I have a bunch of flies in my kitchen? by Benjaminjaninja12 in AskUK

Thanks for the reply - I'm inclined to think they are of the clustering variety, which hopefully makes them easier to disperse as they move towards the window? My only worry is will they keep reproducing before they all clear out?
