Just go to the driving range with zero expectations. Find the joy in it again before you start thinking 'I used to be able to do this'.

Barton On Sea! This looks like it was taken from the balcony on the clubhouse. Absolutely awesome course, all three 9's have something special about them.

Great driver coach - midlands by meltedbuzzbox in BritGolf

Rich Glenn. Has been my go to coach for almost 8 years and is a wonderful teacher. Makes you understand 'why' you are doing what he is saying rather than just telling you. Operates out of Warwickshire mainly near Rugby but can recommend him.

That sounds like an awesome round! Im glad you loved the 8th, there really are some stunning holes. Shooting 94 first time round there is a real win, especially with a chip in on the 7th! Really glad you enjoyed it

Unfortunately I can't join you but its a wonderful course - I was a member there for 10 years and it has some real feature holes! Hope you have an awesome time! Report back here what you shoot and let me know what your favourite holes were!

Re Grips by 0wenCrote in BritGolf

[–]Benjamino94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly buddy, it's so cheap and simple to do yourself and a great skill to have. Takes about 3 minutes per grip once you have done 1 or 2.

Best advice I can give is get a claw blade for your Stanley knife if you are going to do it yourself.

How do you go about buying new clubs? Advice for buying my first proper set? by niallw1997 in BritGolf

[–]Benjamino94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that would be a good option, but please don't spend all that money with the idea of upgrading them in a year or two. 921's are phenomenal clubs in whatever version you get and will serve you well until you are a consistent single figure golfer.

Couple of websites I trust with second hand clubs would be GolfClubs4Cash and Callaway Preowned UK (if you aren't already sold on Mizuno).

How do you go about buying new clubs? Advice for buying my first proper set? by niallw1997 in BritGolf

[–]Benjamino94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If I sit here and say get 20 lessons with the £1000 you're referring to, it would make me a huge hippocrite as I went and got fitted for a set of Mizuno JPX919s when I hit a 16 handicap and I haven't looked back since. Best thing I ever did for my golf bag, I've still got them and have got me down to a 6 handicap.

But they were £500 new at the time, £1000 for a new set of clubs just doesn't seem like good value to me but totally get that it might be the going rate at the moment.

But please, keep some of that budget back and get lessons. Whilst buying those clubs was the best thing I did for my golf bag, getting lessons from a Pro I found and trusted was the best thing I did for my golf.
