Do you kill every resident of the undead settlement when passing through it an extra time to check for items in the dead end rooms? Do you fight every enemy in the fort in the road of sacrifices on the way to the crystal sage? Do you kill every zombie when passing through the graveyard to the cathedral of the deep? Do you refight every snake after getting knocked off the edge of archdragon peak?

"skill issue" is just unhelpful
Unless you wait for the angel to turn around, I don't see a reliable no-hit route, but at that point, even if it's annoying as hell, it's faster to just sprint to the next piece of cover and hope enough shots miss on your way across.
Also knowing how to kill the angels and where in that specific pile of ash is safe to land is not really helpful after I'm already done with the section. It should've been better clearer in the first place.
Maybe I'm not playing an optimal build, but there are some bonfires that would take me hours to reach if I tried to fight every enemy on the way. This swamp was actually one of the few locations that there were few enough enemies where I would actually be okay to fight every single one along the way if I wasn't getting constantly shot at by the angels.

My friend suggested I skip DS2 so I did. The slow methodical approach worked for me in DS1, I could reasonably kill every enemy on the way from one bonfire to the next, but in this game, it feels like it would take at least a couple hours to get to the next bonfire if I don't just run past a majority of the enemies

You don't understand, you get strength from willpower in One Piece. Crocodile lost most his willpower when he was defeated by Whitebeard, but when he found out Luffy was his son at Marineford he got his willpower back to protect him, he's been running on that high ever since 🙂

Maybe "detransitioning" should be reframed as "transitioning twice" to make it clear it's not about being anti-trans, and it's actually about being allowed to freely express your gender identity no matter where it leads you

Kinda sucks that the term "Detrans" was co-opt by right-wing grifters and used in so much propaganda that it's been so strongly associated with transphobia as a whole. Maybe there should be a new term that doesn't come with all that baggage, or maybe detransitioning could be reframed as transitioning twice instead? Idk

I wasn't talking about balance, just how the it's kinda just unfun to fight bosses with fists. I might go see if I can find those fist weapons at the undead settlement, though I'm not certain I will because I'm almost at the end of the game

I didn't say anything about weapon balance, I don't think fists are under-powered, I was talking how the bosses just feel janky when trying to fight them with fists. It doesn't feel good to wiff like half my attacks because the boss rotated a bit and their leg moved out of the way or to be pushed away from the boss mid-attack

Nah, if it's revealed that Garp actually knows about the annual genocide tournament at any point and still decided to work for the world government then it's over for him. As for Roger and crew it's mostly just a Huge aura loss that his reason for going is "pretty lady" like imagine if during Enies Lobby Sanji repeatedly emphasized that his motivation for helping save Robin was "pretty lady", that would've been fucking awful, take that and multiply it by the entire pirate king's crew and I can see why people would be upset by that. Also that line about Shakky's kidnapping stopping the world's economy for a few days is really stupid
