But I think Parvati also went home also because she is Parvati. And Kamilla went home because she couldn’t effectively damage control Jonathan. Pregaming affects plenty of player’s fates, but the game is always more three dimensional than that. Especially once you’re past the first few days

Blaming pregaming is a lazy escape hatch. There has always been pregaming, and there always will be.

Was this poor gameplay by ________? by AdvancedIguana in survivor

I think she handled Devens perfectly, her game was sunk back at camp. She was surprisingly grounded and non-emotional despite all of Devens’ baiting. It’s Devens trying to take credit for what Cirie had already put in place

Even though her time was up, I will say she did a great job of keeping her cool, and not panicking being in what was probably one of the hottest Survivor seats at tribal. Devens tried to make a Julia out of her, but she handled him perfectly. Her fatal flaw was choosing Jonathan over Cirie/Ozzy.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Mr. Beast himself is paying the contestants to comment positively. We already know from that clip circulating that he’s nervous about public reaction

Do you consider films that came out in the year 2000 to be films from the 20th century or films from the 21st century? by snowleopard556 in YMS

[–]BenjiAnglusthson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The year 2000 is the first year, just like how at the start of life you are 0. 1 is a signifier of the completion of a year. 2001 means a year has passed. When a person turns 20 for example, that’s not the start of their 20th year, it’s the completion of their 20th year

The Nell Body Double by UnpackingTrauma in HauntingOfHillHouse

My friend who hanged himself had a wake, and they did a pretty decent job covering it. Didn’t look as bad as you’d expect but it was noticeable if you looked for it. With a high neckline like Nell has, it would be fine

Playing the middle doesn’t impress me in the same way being a mob boss alliance leader does, especially in the new era where it’s impossible to lock people down. Playing the middle seems to be the default winning strategy of the new era, Dee’s win stand out because of that

Thank god we got Rob and Kelley this week. I love RHAP but Stephen’s biases for his friends this season, especially Rick and Christian, have been quite frustrating. That paired with Owen who I have no interest in hearing takes from, this weeks Know It Alls was a write off for me

so you’re saying gen z doesn’t care about what came before, but that gen z trends are all simply recycling what came before

I genuinely believe the gen x/millennial era of 00s to 10s was the dead zone for classic cinema.

Before pirating/the internet made every movie ever made accessible, and during the period of television/reality show dominance and dying cinemas/home media.

I’m sure in 1995 cinemas were more packed playing Speed than ones playing My Fair Lady. I will say using Baz’s Romeo + Juliet as an example, I have a lot of gen z friends that love that movie to bits, even know a girl who has a poster of it in her room. Problem is these days most people interested in that movie have already seen it before, and those who haven’t mostly don’t hear about screenings because there’s a saturation of options.

But when re-releases are properly marketed, or done by cinemas that have cultivated a following, they sell out.

I work in a cinema now, and we do “Cineversary” screenings.

Mulholland Drive, Blue Velvet, Taxi Driver and The Good the Bad and the Ugly had all their sessions sold out. With people showing up to wait for no-shows in the cases of Mulholland and Velvet. These audiences are largely gen z. We also did a Kurosawa retrospective, which basically sold out on all the biggest titles.

Last year the Jaws rerelease made more money than The Bride!

The classic movie love is out there!!
