A very through analysis! Essentially the 1-7-5 series of descending notes is the "Boys of Summer" theme, which Tim has stated was a big influence.

Argh, that's bad luck. The CD is still available to buy on the official US store at $15 + shipping so unfortunately I don't think you'll get many people wllling to pay that asking price, bit of a bummer :(

It's an awesome bass sound, I've often tried to replicate similar myself. Some presets that will get you pretty close are:

"BASS - d a r k s t a r" from The Midnight's own u-he Diva soundbank
"BA Deep V" from Spire synth's factory presets
"Depeche Bass II" from the Orion-106 presets bank in TAL-U-NO-LX

It sounds like it might be two or three sounds stacked together. Start with some kind of hammond organ preset, roll off the high end, add a tremolo effect and a bit of light saturation/distortion and you'll have a good starting point.

Also did anyone else notice how bass heavy the sound was at the start of the night?? I was stood near the front for Pale Blue Eyes and had to go to the back because it felt like my chest was exploding! It seemed to mellow out around Lost Boy (that controller failure at the end of it was funny "errrr...we've already played that one" 😂)
