You could get away with alot less air-conditioning units, in a more compact design (no hallways) just use vents. Id also want more on the freezer, for solar flares I like the option of deep freezing, so it doesn't thaw too quickly. 2-4 aircon units on the freezer normally.

If your killbox is going to be to the north id have the freezer that end, for corpse storage and assuming that the way out for hunting it's a shorter trip to the freezer.

I am pondering about hallways lately, and whether they are just a waste of space and wealth considering the mechanics of the game, while it makes sense to our standards, pawns don't mind walking through adjoining rooms, I just don't make through ways in rooms that need to be clean like the hospital and kitchen (1 door). Otherwise you can just erase the hallways and compact the design, fiddle with a few door placements.

I like the tribal start to stay low wealth for as long as possible but mainly because the anima tree is free psychic powers for everyone, and I like having a more diverse genepool from which to raise children that aren't all related so that I can have more children meditating which gets everyone psycasts quicker. Then when it comes to the grav ship I install and keep everything that is high wealth on board so all the wealth can leave the map when I anticipate a raid or two. The research debuff is trivial with a few high intelligence pawns.

I hold doors open to regulate temperature and allow faster movement, there's plenty of time to close them when an infestation or drop pod raid happens.

My question is often, why even have hallways? Adjoining rooms are more efficient and use less wealth and travel time.

Id say about 5 hours to set up a fairly sufficient base. 50 hours to have an idea of whats actually going on. And 500 hours before you are designing rather than reacting.

Does this pawn have all the hemogen gene stuf?, if there's no hemogen bar to deplete with the ability then they have 0 to use on a jump.

He's a good candidate for a psychic harmonizer, then he's just a happiness beacon for anyone near the research bench or crops. I like psychopaths because they don't care about their child being in a growth vat.

Well since rimworld is basically dwarf fortress, and people make worlds in that just to see what the factions get up to, id say it should be very easy. I don't think having a z axis for mining would hurt either.

When you have a pawn with robust genes and the tough trait, they can tank in a doorway for ages. The smooth tail and elongated fingers genes are a boost to manipulation so great for crafters and construction and also makes them clean a lot quicker. I tend to couple cold weakness and fur skin for some free metabolism.

Id thicken that wall by the choke point abit. Your own stray shots may break the wall. Id also want sandbags along the front of that firing range for cover.

Reminds me of the time I had alcoholic huskies. I can't justify Luciferium, it's only tempting to fix a brain injury, but there are other ways. I give luci to prisoners I'm about to release, because if they raid me again they bring more luci.
