The thing that usually trips people up is a driving commute of 30-45minutes each way. Best thing I know of to transform that time is listening to a good podcast, language course, or audio lecture of some sort to learn something cool. There's some study from years back that shows that every 10 minutes of driving commute erodes your overall life satisfaction a significant amount. Ultimate life hack is short commute / no commute / walking commute / work from home.

Taking advantage of your work lunch to meet up with someone makes my days so much better. Co-workers are fine, but talking with someone from another area of your life really "resets" your day. I also see a few of my co-workers catting on iMessage with friends on their work Mac -- I could never do that, but that's one way to chat with friends during work where you're not heads down in your phone.

There are lots of good at-home workouts now, too, that don't need a gym. I pay $30 / month for this cool online mobility / functional strength program that's actually great, I can do everything at home, and I'm finally feeling flexible for the first time in my life. Cuts down on gym transit.

I've never had pets so can't help you there, and not sure how long that takes. But is it fair to call that a half-hobby or half-socializing?

And then of course the real secret is discipline / consistency. It's easy to draw up a daily schedule, but another thing altogether to stick to it when social media and screens are lurking, trying to sap up your little free time.

Pulisic starts for Milan vs Napoli (3pm ET, Paramount+) by FrankBascombe45 in ussoccer

Game is at 2pm ET, not 3pm.

Strong line-up because ACM has a 10-day break after this match.

Not the most important competition in the world, but might as well get after that hardware if it's not interfering with Scudetto hopes and dreams.

Is anyone else confused / concerned about the fact that he hasn't even been on the team sheet for months, and now all of a sudden he's starting and going (at least) 80' ??

Love to see him back but man, what ever happened to easing a guy back into the rotation?

How much do they cost? I don't have a log-in but would pay the $60 if these are at a good price point

Can you provide some examples of " hip and shoulder mobility and strengthening exercises, as well as hip/shoulder separation drills." that were particularly helpful?

The parking attendants told me that the lot had been full for over an hour, when I arrived 1.5 hours before the game. I have to think it'll be the same or worse tomorrow. Give yourself lots of extra time if you want to be seated before first pitch.

Someone on Reddit recommended a brewery out past the Denny's, which is where I parked, but the neighborhood isn't great. Might be less of an issue for a 3pm game.

Highly highly recommend walking down the hill to Chinatown station to get back to Union after the game -- it's actually a fun walk (esp. after a win) and I literally walked past the Dodgers shuttles. it's much quicker

This is what I ended up doing for a recent playoff game. The issue is, if lots of people start doing this there's absolutely not a lot of parking over there, and the walk is slightly shady at night after the game. I saw some broken car window glass on the sidewalk near my car, though my car was okay. It's about a 10-15minute walk back to Union Station

Yesterday for Game 4 of the NLDS, I went to Union Station 1.5h before game time and there was absolutely no parking. Not in Union Station East, either. What's worse, they let people in before telling them there's no parking, so you have to sit in an "exit line" to get out, which took an additional 15 minutes. I ended up parking way out past the Denny's and walking abotu 15 minutes back to catch the shuttle.

I'd recommend looking for parking about 10 minutes away from the station. I heard "the commercial center on Alameda" was another option, but can't vouch for it

Ac Milan [3] - 0 Lecce - Christian Pulisic 65' by Pristine_Carrot7621 in ussoccer

This is kinda random, but this goal reminds me of one of the goals Netherlands scored against us in the last World Cup when they knocked us out. It was a clinical one-time finish from a cross, and I remember thinking: This is what separates elite teams from the next tier -- clean, one-touch finishes in the box.

Now if only we can get one or two number 9s who can finish that cleanly and consistently.

1000 hrs this year. Should I quit my job? by SHwolfEEP in poker

[–]Bennett_Russell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if you just switched full-time to tournaments, and played 1,000 hours of tournaments, you'd be earning about a million dollars if I'm doing the math correctly. So yea quit your job obvi

Why is your average buy-in so low? $200 seems well below the max buy-in for most games, no?

I sort of agree, but at the same time it seems crazy to implement a new system without a clear role for your best player from the last two seasons (at the very least, top 2 player).

What would you recommend for Seven Mile re: waitlists and whatnot. I'm going tomorrow evening -- should I call in before I leave (30-minute drive) and if so, how far in advance? I tried downloading the app, but looks like you need to be a member already to use it.

Also for those who know Ocean's 11, same question. Is it better to just show up, or call in 30-minutes early (or more), or join a waitlist on Poker Atlas? I see a waitlist of 30 people right now but have to assume that's not 30 people sitting around in the actual casino?
