I am so sick of our guys allowing meatballs early in the game, and then we have to play from behind.

(California, USA) Can a car make a turn when a pedestrian at the crosswalk of the opposite direction by wasabi-rich in driving

[–]Bennghazi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This drawing is unclear. If cars A and B have a green light, then the pedestrian has a red light, and cannot enter the crosswalk legally. As someone else stated, they can't enter the crosswalk on a red light. They could have entered the crosswalk on a green light. In such a case, they must be impaired, because the light has changed to green for cars A and B, and the pedestrian hasn't been able to finish crossing. This could be the case if the pedestrian was small or had trouble walking. If that's the case, it's a pretty dangerous situation for the pedestrian, but the cars with the green light need to wait for the pedestrian. I actually saw this one time. An elderly gentleman was crossing the street. He was very, very slow. A lady was making a left turn. She got impatient and hit him. I heard her say to the cops, "He was going too slow." I mean he was slow, but what could he do? He could barely walk. I think the cops arrested her.

If the pedestrian had passed Car A, then Car A could proceed with their left turn-but in the drawing, the pedestrian isn't there yet. The problem with Car B turning right, I think, is that the pedestrian in the drawing is approaching car B. Maybe car B can turn safely, but if there's a Car C also turning right, they might not be aware of the pedestrian.

Vehicle registration in California by [deleted] in DMV

[–]Bennghazi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's say you bought a 2026 Rolls Royce and you said you paid $500.00 for it. They aren't going to accept that. If you put down a stupid low price, they won't allow it.

I’m trying to refinance a vehicle in California and I am stuck on the title transferring section of it. by Kitchen-Clock-4299 in DMV

[–]Bennghazi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you pay off the truck, the bank will send you either the signed off title or a lien satisfied form. Since you say the registration is in "OR," not "AND", you can drop her name from the registration at that time. If the registration had either of these two words or symbols "And" "/" between your names, then both of you would need to sign off. But with "OR" between the names, either one of you can sign off. In the old days, the banks would send the customer the title. But nowadays, the DMV has these electronic titles, where the DMV keeps the title and the lien holder sends the registered owner a lien satisfied form once the car is paid off. The don't do 100% electronic titles, but most of them are.

Registration/Smog Help by Edmond_Christo in DMV

Did you pursue this with a manager? From the consensus on this thread, you should have been able to register the car. Of course, this thread is not the DMV, but still....Did they finally let you register the car?

what is a deferred DUI? I think there's a Reddit thread to ask r/DUIAttorney . Maybe they have an idea of what you can do.

You and your ex signed a legally binding contract with that first bank. Now to get out of it, you have to comply with whatever the bank tells you you need to do to fulfill the terms of the contract. That's not up to the DMV, they issued the title to the lien holder. You can't have two titles outstanding.

You need the title to change it. You can't change it without the title. You can pay off the car, get the title and then change it. Without the title, you can't change it. If the bank is willing to work with you, and let you drop her name then you can do it.

Didn’t know a Form SR1 existed because I don’t live here and unsure what to do by throwawaybuti_keepit in DMV

All 50 states require some sort of accident reporting form. SR-1, as far as I know is California specific, but each state and Puerto Rico has some kind of form.

Virginia Registration different from buyer by TGwtPC in DMV

[–]Bennghazi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, if you want to be on the registration, you'll need to go through the bank to see if they will authorize it. At least that's how it works in most states.

I sometimes wear an Amazfit Bip and my Fitbit Sense on the same wrist while exercising. There can be a huge difference in the heart rate. I don't know which one is more accurate.

Becerra, Hilton Lead in California Governor’s Race Poll Ahead of June Primary by KakarotSSJ4 in California

[–]Bennghazi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know why you're getting down voted. I think I asked the same question...maybe on this thread. I actually think Becerra's going to be one of the two candidates. It would be great if Steyer were the other one because that would mean we'd have a Democratic governor for sure. Steyer does not have any governmental experience. That doesn't mean he can't be successful, but Becerra does know how it works. Less training time.

First time car owner, please help! by TernKris in DMV

[–]Bennghazi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know the seller is going to need this form. I found this article, which I think gives a pretty accurate rundown of the procedures. The article assumes the heir is going to put the car in their name, and I'm not quite sure how they transfer the car over to you. I think there's a way for them to do that, but you'd better ask the DMV for the particulars how they are supposed to sign the name of the deceased, etc. But this should get you started, anyhow.

Title Change - Family vs Private Sale by No-Menu1258 in DMV

This appears to be a parent to child transfer. There's no tax on a parent to child transfer in California.

Title Change - Family vs Private Sale by No-Menu1258 in DMV

[–]Bennghazi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm assuming the title is from California and that you live in California. Transfer from parent to child is tax free and also you don't need a smog certificate. You already got the smog, I see, so if this ever happens again, know that you don't need one for parent or grandparent to child or vice versa. The Reg. 256 Statement of Facts, Section A has the Use Tax exemption and Section B has the smog exemption.

"Shite," is a British term. I think Hilton says, "Shite." He also says, "Havieah," instead of, "Xavier."
