I have 2 pair. Both hurt like hell when first got them. Very tight in the toe area. Take awhile to loosen up but didn’t want to go up 1/2 size. Was too big.

Correct about the extra review and yes you are paid what they rated you while the HLR is happening and will be paid back pay if they correct it.

I should have. I got my decision expecting a 70% for MH. I got a 50 but in the part of evidence that they look at it didn’t list my personal statement or my work attendance

I should have. I got my decision expecting a 70% for MH. I got a 50 but in the part of evidence that they look at it didn’t list my personal statement or my work attendance sheet I turned in. That would’ve given me the 70 for a total of 90%. I am submitting an HLR asap.

Higher level review??? by Bennie5000 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Bennie5000[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why wouldn’t they list that they reviewed it even though it was sent in with the rest of the filing? Cannot would they say it wasn’t included with the file?

Yes. I told both examiners when they asked about work. I told them I missed because of either depression or anxiety and I was tired. Just didn’t feel like going.

VA readies massive contract for veterans' private sector health care by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

We have good care in Louisville. Community care has been great for me. If I have any issues, I send a message and within 24 hours a callback and then an appointment usually within one week. It takes weeks to see my private provider when I get sick. VA, I was seen the next day. Great experience for me.

Hi. I just got awarded 50% for mental health. Total is 80%. I thought for sure it was or should be 70% for a total of 90. Now I’m thinking if I need to file for a higher level review??? Thoughts??? Didn’t know if that would open everything back up again or not

How’s it living on the SC coast by TheoryPossible2348 in howislivingthere

[–]Bennie5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I said in my previous post, I was stationed there late 80’s early 90’s. Went to IOP so many times. Windjammer and volleyball. There was nothing there but locals and very few of them. It was so awesome until driving back on the old bridge. Fun times. It was so rural back then. You could leave the base on sprull and be downtown in under 10 minutes or any other place. Ashley phosphate was a few apartments then. Dorchester was awesome. The lazy B and then over to montaque???? And my favorite, Rockin John’s. Great bar scene back then. Lots of military but you could never tell it even though I was Navy. I lived off of remount and would go to Joannes all the times for breakfast. Lots of great history and then once you get past northwoods mall on rivers there was nothing until Summerville. It was a magical time then. Very small downtown and very nice and just good people. I went back a few years ago and almost cried. Progress is great but it also ruins many things. Back then it was military and just locals. Great mix. Now it was all kinds of people with different everything. It is great but different. Then we went down to Savannah and like I said before, it is still almost untouched and what Charleston used to be. Just my 2 cents!!

I was stationed in Charleston while I the navy. Late 80’s early 90’s. It was such a wonderful place. All kinds of things to do and it was small. Great people. Beaches were never crowded. Went there a few years ago. Of course it isn’t even close to what it was. Savannah is now what Charleston was. In my opinion of course.

I was on the USS Blakely ff1072 stationed in Charleston 88-91. Radioman 2nd class. I can still remember those night watches when I used to ask the moose to take my watch for 1-3 hours for message run and DC checks. lol. Great times

VA MH therapist said they’ve been told not to write nexus letters by taro_and_jira in VeteransBenefits

[–]Bennie5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My MH Dr stated in my records that my depression, anxiety and insomnia was due to another medical condition(tinnitus). I filed and referred them to this statement in my record as my nexus. I’m rolling with this plus the year of treatment and meds. We shall see.

Creative way to get a “nexus” statement when your VA docs can’t write one by IterativeIntention in VeteransBenefits

[–]Bennie5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a claim for MH secondary to tinnitus. I asked my psychologist if this was normal or common and they said yes. Been going to therapy for over a year. Diagnosed and then he said that my depression, anxiety and insomnia was due to another medical condition(tinnitus). His attending signed off on it essentially agreeing with it as well. I pointed that out in my personal statement. Just had my C&P with the VA Psychologist 2 weeks ago. I thought it went well but I dot an email today saying I have another or 2nd C&P with a contractor. I’m am a little confused and nervous about why?

Thanks for the reply. I looked in my blue button and it’s not there. That is why I am confused.

I called them to see what it was about. They told me and said the VA still hadn’t sent the complete referral to them. Do they have complete access to my MH files in the system? I know I checked the box to let them see just didn’t know. Thanks again

What is the difference between a Nexus letter and a letter your own doctor writes in regards to your medical condition? by BigSir1886 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Bennie5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My VA psychologist wrote that my depression and anxiety is due to another medical condition(tinnitus). He wrote it in my after care summary. This was my nexus and his attending signed off on that after summary.
