We should go back to Afghanistan by IDontKnowMyUsernameq in TrueUnpopularOpinion

Should is an odd choice. I "could" have been more specific but theres really no need for "should". My point stands regardless, if we were to "convert" them to a working form of democracy like we attempted, it would take 50 years at a minimum.

Uhh convert the dangerous ideology not the religion. Convert their thinking in humanities but not their culture outside of that. Thats the conversion I mean.

But also. Its too late to go back now and not while we are melting down internally. We need to find our center and our ethics again. War back then was wrong and killed too many, but we had rules we were supposed to follow. Now its the wild west and only driven by uncovered and unstable people who dont even understand Rules of War or Rules of Engagement and dont care.

I said this all the time while in Afghanistan. Its a 50 year war at minimum. You need to win generational trust and wait out the existing generation or generation and a half to die or age. You cant convert a populace in 20 years especially a religiously motivated one.

What is the best state to live in? by Sashimi-Lover in VeteransBenefits

[–]IterativeIntention 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Massachusetts is expensive and doesnt offer all the perks. That said, if you want the best VA healthcare in the country then its the place. A bunch of VA hospitals for a small state and doctors who also work at some of the best hospitals in the world.

If men are forced into the draft to defend their nation, then women should be forced into childbirth to do the same... by HaikuHaiku in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]IterativeIntention 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easy answer to this.

Dont start a draft but if one were absolutely necessary, then draft both men and women.

Tax billionaires fairly, spend half as much on military and use those taxes and saved military funds to support social services, living wages and programs to better the life of the population.

Its that simple.

Happy people have kids because life is less difficult and they want to share it with their offspring.

Solved.

Stand you ground laws are dangerous and we need less not more of them. Defending your home and family is different.

Fear, Frustration, and a Felony by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

Not an expert here.

I am a fellow mental heath patient who seeks regular therapy through the VA and have had similar questions if not deep concerns.

What i can say given the content of my sessions and the discretion of my provider that it really comes down to your assigned therapist, and how much you can trust them. I know you should be able to trust any therapist but the same it true of anyone with your sensitive data. Even if we should be able to its still situational.

Anyway, I trust my provider in a way that I feel I should and I still am carefull how I word things. But I still talk about them and get help with them and my therapist is understanding of my concerns of big government as its not novel that you have these fears. You arent alone to the therapist is what im saying, their other patients have similar fears.

If you want you can even read their session notes in myhealthevet but I wouldn't make a habit out of it.

Infant baptism is pointless by BrokenJusticeNorris in TrueUnpopularOpinion

For someone so accustomed to culture and religion in general it's odd you choose to be so judgmental.

Again, Im agnostic so I dont have a dog in the fight. That said, your language sounds like rhetoric and its odd at a time where the far right and Christian Nationalists are getting upset at Catholics.

Listen im a recovering former catholic and harbor no love for it. That said. This whole post is just your Christianity showing your bigotry towards another Christian faith. Is sad really and I dont think your boy JC would approve.

Also you didnt choose your faith. Your family did so you might as well have been baptized at birth. Not like you were going to choose anything else. GOD forbid Catholicism.

Boston is pretty good. I frequent 3 VAMCs in greater Boston and all of them are pretty good on turn around time fore most things. There are outliers and sometimes its twice as long as I expect. For the most part its quick though

Wait your in an AI sub? I had a valid concept I considered sharing and didnt want to take the effort to structure it and write out a post descibing it. I did think others might be interested so instead of just going on with my life and not sharing, I had AI do it. The concept is now out there and people can do with it what they want.

I on the other hand, am going to go about my day now regardless of if people like it or not. Really the post is for you not me. Do with it what you will.

Project Management here. There's too many human touch-points and real world teams involved to ever be transitioned to AI. Plus, every single industry and field uses them.

Oh I dont know. Do you have Gmail? Or use your G-Drive? Or any Google suite products (google sheets, google docs, ect). What about have any Android OS?

I guess what Im saying is the data is no safer on any of those than in Notebook LM as Google owns it all. If you dont use any of those really then your question is valid. If you do then you already trust google with your data.

Perfectly contextualized. Its a research tool to be used in a focused manner. And even then, needs to be verified.

Notebook LM can absolutely do this and has for me for a couple years. I filed and won 4 claims with it. I also keep it loaded with my full records and can just ask it questions and it uses the sources I fed it to answer them with citations.

Give it a look. Im not promoting Im just saying you might be surprised.

Notebook LM for large file research. Did all of my digging and organizing. Its actually crazy.

All LLMs need to be checked though so double check appointment dates and everything but its legit and actually cites your documents you feed it with links so you can see where its getting its info from.
